After being dragged for a few turns, I managed to escape Empress Circe's grasp, making her pause and look back at me as I quickly took a step back. Staring at her while holding the place she was grabbing me.

My eyes narrowed. "For an Empress, you're quite rude." She grinned, chuckling at what was said by me. "I've been called worse, my little fox."

"My name is Rowan and I am not yours!" I nearly yelled, trying to keep my voice down so none of any nearby servants would report back to father about my behavior towards his special guest.

Empress Circe chuckled, it was soft and rich but also gave a feeling of danger. Before I could do anything, too focus on her laugh, the older woman grabbed my arm once more and swiftly pulled me towards her.

A small yelp left me when she did that and I frozen, feeling and hearing her breathing right next to my ear. "Little Fox, I wouldn't be all up in a fix right now. After all, I can always go back to your father and tell him about your little stunt when I first arrived."

My eyes widened as Empress Circe pulled away, bring face to face to me as she looked straight in my very soul. A huge evil smirk on her face.

Staring blankly at her for a moment, I closed my eyes and sighed. "I don't have the slightest idea when you mean Empress. I did not even meet you until last night at my eldest brother's party."

Letting me go, Empress Circe stared down at me, her eyes darkening which made me want to get away from her as quick as possible. "Such a smooth tongue you got there, little fox."

Not saying anything else, the Empress turned tail and began walking down the hall. I stared at her leave, unsure of whether to follow or not.

My answer was given when Empress Circe stopped and looked over her shoulder, seeing me not following. "Coming, my little fox?"

Blushing at the nickname, I quickly rushed over to her. Ignoring her growing smirk when doing that, I pulled my hands behind my back, clasping my fingers together. Looking anywhere but at the Empress.

Shaking her head at that, the Empress looked forward and carried on with her walk. Me following her three paces behind, just out of her range to grab me.

We walked all the way to the entrance of the castle, neither of us saying anything to each other.

But while walking, I was trying to hide my limp of my still bruised knee, holding back my grunts of pain as my nails dug into my skin to keep my voice down.

Thankfully, Empress Circe paid no mind to me. And if she did, she still didn't seem to care.

Reaching the entrance, the doors were opened for us by the guards there, who seem to tremble in their boots as the sight of Empress Circe. Even lowing their gaze and becoming still like statues.

My brows furrowed as we walked by, my gaze on one of the guard. What was that about?

Shaking my head and dismissing what I saw, I looked back to see Empress Circe walked over to a very familiar carriage that had two dozen knights surrounding it.

I hesitated for a moment, not wanting to be anywhere near the intimidating knights that wore the darkness for armor. Taking a deep breath, I stepped out, the door closing behind me. Too late to escape now.

Strolling over to the carriage, one of the knights opened the door for the Empress and bowed his head. Not even glancing up when I also got in after her.

Taking a seat across from Empress Circe. Not wanting to do anything with her as the knight closed the door. After a short yell, the carriage began to move.
