Seeing such worry on the Empress, it made me slightly uncomfortable. So, I put a hand over her face and pushed her away. "Too close. Take it back a step. You're really freaking me out right now."
Empress Circe's eyes widened for a small moment before she let out a chuckle. Gently grabbing my wrist and pulling my hand away from her face. "I'm freaking you out, dear? You scared the seven hells out of me when you suddenly passed out and started to bleed."
I had a nose bleed? By the gods, what a pain this is. "Not to mention, it was only your first day in the Empire so." I felt my cheeks warm up in embarrassment. Did she really made such a fuss after I passed out? "Quick question, who changed my clothes?"
"One of the female healers did so." Looking up at Empress Circe, she grinned, tilting her head to the side. "And by the way, it was a smart idea to sew a dagger in your shirt sleeve. For the most part." My eyes narrowed. "What is that supposed to mean?"
Before she could answer my question, the door right behind me suddenly opened and bumped into me. Making me yelp and move closer to Empress Circe to get out of the way while also looking to see who it was as they stepped into the room after I moved out of the way.
My eyes landed on a younger man, bright blond hair that reached the tip of his ears and bright blue eyes that seem to shine. He wore a white robe. He looks like an Angel.
"Ah, healer Mark, I was just about to get a Knight to go fetch you." Empress Circe spoke as the man's eyes looked me up and down. "My fiancé just woke moments ago and I want you to check up on her to see if she's alright." Did she just call me her fiancé?
Mark bowed his head. "Of course, your majesty." I was taken back to the bed and made to sit down. Empress Circe watched a few feet away as Mark checked me over, asking a few questions in the meanwhile.
After when felt like forever, he finally pulled away and decided that I was fine enough to leave the infirmary. Much to my relief. I went to the infirmary many times growing up and I hated going there every time.
Closing the door of the infirmary behind me, I let out a small sigh, rubbing the back of my neck. Looking up, Empress Circe was patiently waiting for me. Her smile making me shudder. "You must be hungry. I'll take you to your new room where you can relax and I'll sent a servant to bring you lunch. Is that alright with you?"
I've heard that the East eats kind of differently from the Kingdom of Eldoria. I wonder what type of food they have to make people say that. "Sure, I don't mind that idea at all." Grinning, Empress Circe turned around and began walking away with me following after her.
Looking around the hall, my eyes stung from the bright sunlight. But I saw how everything looked to nice, including the walls that looked like they weren't made out of rock or stone. It was smooth and dark, which made the stinging in my eyes lessened a little.
The entire castle was dark, the walls black and the carpet a slightly dark red. There were a ton of knights and maids in the hall who immediately bow their heads at first sight of their Empress and didn't look up until we were far away.
We have been walking for a few minutes now and I couldn't help but wonder the scale of how tall the castle was. I mean, I could see it beyond the castle walls so it must be pretty tall.
Then again, the East Empire has steadily increased their land over the years so it makes sense why they'd have a huge castle.
"I have a question." Empress Circe smile, turning to look at me as we walked down the hall that was lit by the windows. It seemed to be midday. "Ask away, my little fox." Why does she call me that?
"How did we managed to get to the East Empire in just a week? It should have taken a month or longer on land." I've heard that the Empire has new and strange technology that the land never seen before. But that doesn't explain how we got here so fast.
Empress Circe chucked, shaking her head. "It was actually two weeks my dear. Seems like you were so out of it that you didn't notice how many days had passed." My cheeks flushed at what she said.
"That still doesn't explain how you managed to cut the trip by half." Empress Circe ran her fingers through her hair, making my eyes flicker to the sudden movement. "Let's just say, better carriages and a lot of short cuts." I pouted at that. That couldn't be possible all, right? "Where is Amelia?"
Empress Circe's hand twitched. "She's probably in her new room. Our rooms are in the North Wing and the servants stay at the South Wing." Thank goodness that we don't have to share a room.
"By the way, after we wed, you're moving into my room. But that won't be for another few months or so." Dame it. Suppressing a groan, it took a few more minutes for us to finally come to a stop in front of a door.
"This is your room." Opening the door, Empress Circe stepped out of the way for me to get in first and my eyes widened at what I saw.
The room was double the size of my old room back at Eldoria. It was dark with a standard bed with dark purple sheets, dressed, balcony, vanity, etc. And off to the side, were my things, some still in trunks.
"Do you like it?" Snapping my head back to Empress Circe, I nodded my head. Clasping my hands behind my back. "Yes, it's really lovely, your highness."
She waved a dismissive hand. "Please, just call me by my name. We're going to rule this Empire together so we're equals. Understand?" Not moving for a moment, I slowly nodded my head. "Yes, I understand."
Circe grinned. "Good. Now then, I shall leave you. It may take some time for a butler to come with your lunch so in the meanwhile, how about you settle down in your new room."
"Okay. Thank you, your maj-Circe." I quickly corrected, ignoring the small blush on my cheeks which Circe noticed. "You're welcome, little Fox." With that, she closed my chamber door shut with a click.
