It's been a month after that whole thing. Tony and I moved upstate since he sold the avengers tower. Technically he just upgraded it since everything in the new building is crazy more expensive.

Peter was coming to visit today, Tony was offering him a spot on the avengers. Supposedly there was this whole thing that happened with the bad guy and what not and Peter dealt with it. I was honestly very proud of him.

I had a bet going with Tony, I told him Peter would tell him no. But obviously Tony said he wouldn't refuse an offer from him.

"Oh there they are" Tony says as we walk up to happy and Peter
"How was the ride up?" He asks them
"Good" happy answers
"Give me a minute with the kid" tony tells happy
"Seriously?" Happy asks
"Yeah. I gotta talk to the kid" he tells him
"I'll be close behind" happy says
"How about a loose follow? All right? Boundaries are good" tony says
"You want me with you or with happy?" I ask him
"With me. Come on" he says as he pats Peter then puts his arm around him as I stand on the other side of him

"Sorry I took your suit. You had it coming. Actually, it turns out it was the perfect tough love moment that you needed. To urge you on right? Wouldn't you think? Don't you think?" Tony asks him
"I guess" Peter nods
"Let's just say it was" Tony sighs
"Mr. Stark I really-" Peter starts to say
"You screwed the pooch hard, big time. But then you did the right thing. Took the dog to the free clinic, you raised the hybrid puppies, all right not my best analogy. I was wrong about you. I think with a little more mentoring, you could be a real asset to the team." Tony tells him then pays his arm and lets go
"To the- to the team?" Peter asks
"Yeah. Anyway. There's about 50 reporters behind that door. Real ones, not bloggers. When you're ready, why don't you try that on? And I'll introduce the world to the newest official member of the avengers. Spider man" tony says showing him the suit him and I made

"I-wha-I-" Peter mumbles walking forward to it
"Yeah give that a look" tony tells him as he just stares
"You made this?" He asks Tony still in shock
"We made it. Stayed up late last night finishing the last touches" I smile
"After the press conference happy will show up to your room. You're new quarters. Where's he between? He's next to vision?" Tony asks happy
"Yeah visions not big on doors it's fun. Or walls. You'll fit right in" tony says and I could tell something changed in Peter's mind

"Thank you Mr. Stark. But I'm good." Peter tells him
"You're good? Good- how are you good?" Tony asks him taken back
"Well I mean, I'd rather just stay on the ground for a little while. Friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. Somebody's gotta look out for the little guy right?" Peter says and I walk up next to Tony
"You sure are right Peter" I smile and I could see his face light up some
"You're turning me down?" Tony ask taking his glasses off
"You better think about this. Look at that.
Look at me. Last chance, yes or no?" Tony asks
"No" Peter tells him
"Okay. It's kind of a springsteen-y working-class hero vibe that I dig. Uh happy will take you home. Yeah?" Tony asks happy
"Yeah. Mind waiting in the car, I need a minute" happy tells him
"Thank you Mr.stark, and thank you Mrs. Gray" Peter smiles
"Yes Mr. Parker very well." Tony says shaking his hand
"See you around" Peter smiles then jogs off but stops

"That was a test right? There's no body back there?" He asks
"Yeah you passed. Killed it actually. Great job kid" I smile
"All right skedadole there young buck" tony says
"Thank you Mrs. Gray! Thank you Mr. Stark!" Peter yells
"Bye Parker" I yell

"Told you he's a good kid" happy says
"You owe me 100 bucks" I smile and Tony just holds his hands out

"Where's the kid?" The lady who I learned was pepper asks
"He left" happy tells her
"Everybody's waiting" she tells us
"He actually made a mature choice. It just surprised the heck out of us" tony says
"Woah didn't surprise me. I told him it was going to happen" I tell pepper
"Of course Octavia here is the only one who's prepared. Did you really screw this up Tony?" Pepper asks
"He told the kid to go wait in the car" tony says pointing at happy
"Are you kidding? I have a room full of people in there waiting for some big announcement, what do I tell them?" She asks
"Think of something how bout um" tony stops the look at me, then happy

"Hap you still got that ring?" He asks
"Do I- I- the engagement ring. Are you kidding? I've been carrying this thing around this 2008." happy says checking his pockets and pulling it out
I just stare at it then look at tony with a 'are you kidding' face
"Ok surely I can think of something better than that" I say
"It could buy some time-" he tries to say
"Absolutely not" I cut him off
"Fine. I have a better idea , follow me" he says then grabs my arm

We both sit down at the table with a microphone in front of us. Tony starts talking and I really only clue in when he says this....
"And welcome, are newest member of the avengers, Octavia Gray, Phoenix" tony says pointing at me and all the reporters go crazy and start taking pictures. My jaw was dropped, he did not just do that.

"Alright that's all the time we have for today, thank you. Let's give are newest member a round of applause" tony smiles as we stand up, the people cheer for me then Tony guides me out of the room.

"Are you kidding me?" I ask him once we were out
"Nope not one bit" he says tapping his watch and a suit appears.

"The new and improved, Phoenix suit" he smiles
"Holy shit" I mumble

(Mostly like Wanda's suit but Phoenix colors, like orange/yellow/gold)
