When we returned to the house, West checked on Misty. This gave Preston and me time to plot with our cousins. So, we left the house and hiked up the inclined drive. It was better than our dads getting wind of our exploits.

"What the fuck is wrong with this bitch? Does she realize who she's messing with?" Ryan asked.

"Obviously not if she keeps pulling her bullshit," River said.

"Mary is lucky West didn't beat her into the ground. You remember how the old man was with us," Preston mentioned.

"The man hosed me down in cold weather. I thought he would beat Noah for his outburst with that damn cake," Michael said.

"Dad disciplined us, but he didn't abuse us," I reminded my cousins.

"It would have pissed Ma off," River said.

I nodded in response.

"So, what's the plan to deal with this old hag?" Ryan asked.

Preston's lips turned into a smirk. "It's time for ghosts of the past to haunt the old bitty."

We exchanged glances, knowing we needed help. Remember those little parlor tricks we returned with? We had a few more up our sleeves. One would benefit us to scare the living shit out of Mary.

After discussing the plan, Preston and I talked to Thomas and Davis. We filled them in on the details. They were more than willing to help us. River talked to Chelle since she had blonde hair and a sweet disposition like Cora. We just needed to make her appear as Cora. It helped that Naomi had pictures of Cora since we didn't know what she looked like.

We enlisted the girls to help transform Chelle into Cora. Since Misty couldn't go with us, she was more than happy to help and found her mom's old clothing.

Chelle held up the dress. "Your mom wasn't a fashionista, was she?"

"My mom grew up in the mountains. It's not like they have designer clothes lying around," Misty said.

"Why does your grandma have your mom's old clothes and pictures of her? Isn't that a bit weird?" Lena asked.

"Dad brought boxes of my mom's things down here to donate to people. I guess Grandma never got around to donating the items. As for the pictures, my dad has most of them. He packed them away when we moved into the house and never unpacked them. He said it was a reminder of not having Mom here."

"I can't imagine losing a spouse and raising a child alone," Kass said.

"It helps when people pull together to help you. Val and Kadia were a godsend for us."

Everyone nodded in agreement.

"Hey, y'all want to hurry this up before our folks return," Thomas said.

"We still need to stop at the hardware store before they close," Davis added.

The girls shoved Chelle into a bedroom and closed the door. We heard arguing and yelling while the girls transformed Chelle into Cora.

"That freaking hurts!" Chelle yelled.

"It wouldn't hurt if you would hold still!" Lena growled.

We glanced at Ryan and River while they shrugged.

"Stop your whining and let Lena style your hair," Bria ordered.

"You're not the one who's getting their hair yanked! Ow!" Chelle shouted.

"We still need to do your makeup. And it would help if you got dressed," Kass said.

"No one told me I would endure torture!"
