Misty
It's not that I don't enjoy sightseeing. But I prefer not having a psycho demon trying to ruin my fun. What in the Kentucky Fried fuck is this bullshit?
Isn't it bad enough this stupid thing tried to drown us, put us in lockdown, mummified my grandmother? Wait. The third thing wasn't a bad thing. This thing can keep my horrible grandmother.
Back to its antics.
It tried to eat us in the store—I think it wanted to eat us—and I wouldn't put it past this thing if it wished to us as a snack. It amplified our anger, made us doubt each other, and tried to run us off the road. I'm so over this vacation.
We returned to the farm to have fun since we were here until Saturday when the psycho demon interrupted our sightseeing at Seneca Cavern. Stupid demon.
Once we arrived, we had lunch before Grandpa pulled out the four-wheelers for us to ride. Grandpa Fuller kept five four-wheelers in a pole barn on the farm since they belonged to my grandparents, aunts, uncles, and dad. A four-wheeler was a quicker way to get to the back area of the farm.
My dad and Grandpa pulled them out since Thomas and Davis left yesterday to head home for work. Aunt Virginia and her family left two days ago, while Nana, Pop, and my uncle left on Sunday. The family could only stay long enough for the wedding, then had to skedaddle home.
Once Grandpa and Dad got the four-wheelers gassed and ready, we climbed on and took off like big birds across the forty acres. We kept to the property line so we didn't encounter any surprise visitors.
Tino drove while I sat behind him with my arms wrapped around his waist. Going four-wheeling was my favorite part of our trips to West Virginia. Dad would take me through the trails for a few hours. We would see bears, deer, and other wildlife during our outings.
Tino and his cousins raced each other while the girls and I wrote on the back of the four-wheelers. They tore ass around on the farm until Nolan's four-wheeler stalled. We stopped while he tried to get it started until he broke the throttle on it.
"Shit," Nolan said.
"What?" Noah asked.
"I broke the throttle." Nolan held up the throttle button in his hand.
"Good job, you knob," Nathan said.
"It's not my fault the stupid thing broke," Nolan huffed.
"Settle down, Esmeralda. We'll head back and get West to help us," Nixon said.
"Mags and I will stay with Nolan and Brook while you get help," Nash said.
The boys nodded before returning to the house while Nash and I stayed put. We didn't need a bear to eat Nolan and Brook. I can hear it now. How was your vacation? Great until Yogi ate Nolan and Brook. Yum, yum.
*******
ValentinoWe stayed put while Nix, Nathan, Noah, and their girls returned to the house to get West to help us with the four-wheeler.
"It's weird, isn't it?" Nolan asked, glancing around.
"What is?" I asked.
"We're us, but we're not us, if that makes any sense."
"It does." I nodded.
"Do you think we've always been destined to end up together?"
I pondered Nolan's question for a few minutes. There's never been a time I haven't remembered not being with him or the others. It seemed like we always gravitated to each other.
