Days passed by.
"Ram, go with me." Kian said.
"Where?" I asked while still focus in my computer.
"Meeting room."
"Did I do wrong?" I suddenly asked worried.
"No. Present your work. I told you every project would be presented and need approval."
"You mean, with the executives?"
"Yes. In this company everybody's opinion is important and the majority win."
"I got nervous."
"Don't be. I like your work, so prove to everyone your concept."
"O-okey." I said and starting to feel sweaty.
In the meeting room. Three person will present their work including me.
"Ram." Ms Sammy greeted.
"Ms Sammy, good morning."
"Good morning, you look nervous."
"Yes. I am." I said trying to give her smile.
"You can do it. It's normal 'cause it's your first time."
"Do you think so?"
"Yes." she smile widely.
We spend more minutes before the meeting start. Since the CEO and other executives are not yet arrive we continue talking nonsense topic. Then suddenly I heard the door open.
"Good morning everyone." said the familiar voice.
"Good morning CEO." the staff replied.
When I turn my head to the voice, I can't believe who I saw.
"Axel..?" I whispered.
He smile at me. "Nice to see you again Ramices."
"You are the CEO?"
"Yes. You don't know?" he asked back.
"No, I don't have any idea either."
"Really?" he said smirking.
"Im so overwhelmed when I got this job, I forgot to do my research." I said honestly.
The people in the room look so confused about the situation.
"You know Ram, CEO?" Kian asked to interrupt.
"Yes, we study in the same university." Axel replied.
"I know him too." the president also interrupted while entering inside the room.
"Hi, Ramices. Remember me? Derek, Axel close friend." he said smiling.
I just nod. I can't find my own voice to replied.
"Well, we can continue this conversation later but for now let's start the meeting first." Axel decision.
As the meeting going on. I felt my knees trembling because of nervousness, plus the stare Axel giving me once in a while.
"Ram, your turn now." Kian said smiling.
"Y-yes." I said and tried to stand up proper.
I discuss my concept and view about my project. Honestly, I tried hard to avoid Axel stare while presenting and I try very hard not to distract from him.
"What do you think about Ram work, guys?" Kian asked. "Personally I like it, just when I first saw it."
"Look refreshing. I can't deny you have your own style. Every detail
have this modern touch." Axel said.
"I agree. It's not in our comfort zone. Not the way we used to see. It's new to our eyes." Derek commented.
"Do you think you can defend this to our client? Can you convince them to take your work?"
"Yes, Sir." I said in determination.
He smile. "I really like your courage Ramices. Kian, please settle an appointment to the client please." Axel ordered.
"Yes, Sir."
"That means you approve my work, Sir?" I asked in hope.
"Yes. It's majority."
"Thank you so much." I said happily.
"If nothing concern, this meeting is closed." Axel said.
