✻Y/N arrived at the cafe early today since it will be her final shift, she wanted to leave on a positive note. Taehyung had requested her to step away from her job, a request she accepted without hesitation.
Working at the cafe wasn't her aspiration, it wasn't the career path she visioned in her teenage years. However, her mother's accident compelled her to work to cope with financial burdens.
Upon marriage, she would become a Kim, integrating into their family. Due to their prominent status, Taehyung want to shield her from unwanted attention and baseless gossip, emphasizing the importance of maintaining discretion about their arrangement.
During their discussion about the rules and all that, he didn't forbid her to go anywhere or meet anyone, just ask about two things, first to leave her job and second to keep this contract a secret.
Y/N noticed that the magazine door was unlocked at the cafe, which left her puzzled and with a frown as she muttered to herself.
"It's not Mr Min's time to arrive. Then who could it be?"
She cautiously approached the magazine door, hesitating as a thought crossed her mind.
What if it's a thief?
Scanning the area for something to defend herself, she spotted a broom and picked it up before slowly entering the room. Seeing a man's back facing her, rummaging through a bag, she tightened her grip on the broom and shouted, ready to strike.
"Yahh, you thief!"
Before her broom could make contact with the man, he swiftly turned around and caught the broom mid-air, almost shouting in surprise.
"Yah... Are you crazy? What are you doing?"
Her shock turned to relief as she realized the person was none other than her coworker, Park Jimin. She sighed in relief and expressed with a hint of embarrassment.
"I thought a thief had barged in."
Jimin responded, slightly annoyed.
"Do I look like a thief to you?"
She mumbled softly.
"How did you get here?"
Jimin replied.
"Just so you know, I have spare keys too."
She chuckled nervously and apologized.
"Sorry."
Jimin shook his head, sighed and muttered.
"Idiot."
Ignoring his comment for the sake of peace. She knew if she didn't back down, neither would he, and their argument would likely escalate until they both got caught by their boss. In order to spare her from any late shift and scolding on her last day, she simply reply.
"Now let's start work."
Jimin nodded and then they both started to prepare for the day. While they were engrossed in their tasks at the cafe, Jimin curiously inquired.
"Hey, how come you're here so early today?"
As she swept the floor, she responded.
"It's my final day, so i am trying to avoid any complaints from the boss on my last shift."
Jimin, busy arranging pastries in the glass display, chuckled and teasingly remarked.
"Did old, cold, monster Min Yoongi finally fire you? That's a shame."
