Beatrice woke up early in the morning with a feeling of lightness and calm. The previous evening with Thomas had filled her with confidence that their relationship was heading in the right direction. Although she wasn't ready to make a decision about their future yet, she knew that Thomas was willing to wait for her. That sense of having time and space to think everything through gave her a peace that now enveloped her entire body like a warm veil.

Theresa was already awake, sitting on her bed and stretching her arms. As soon as she saw Beatrice open her eyes, she focused her gaze on her. "Good morning, Beatrice," she said with a smile, though there was a hint of curiosity in her voice. "So, how was last night?"

Beatrice sat up and stretched her back, her smile gentle but meaningful. "It was... very special," she replied cautiously.

Theresa gave her an amused look. "Special? So, what happened? I saw you leave with Thomas, and I'm guessing you had an important conversation."

Beatrice smiled lightly, knowing Theresa wouldn't let it go. Her friend was always curious, asking about even the smallest details. She always needed to know everything, down to the last detail. "Yeah, we talked. About us. About what's between us," Beatrice admitted. She didn't want to lie. Just a few days ago, they promised to be honest with each other, and the brunette intended to keep that promise. She wasn't going to make anything up but would simply tell her the truth. "Thomas told me he'd like us to be together."

Theresa raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "That's quick! But really great. And what did you say?" She looked happier than Beatrice did when Thomas mentioned it last night, which made it amusing, and the brunette tried not to laugh.

Beatrice sat on the edge of the bed and sighed. "I told him I'd decide after our last event. I feel like I need to focus on the dives with you right now. I have to make sure I'm fully prepared." She was scared. She was scared to admit her feelings out loud like that. Saying she liked him was easy, but she was afraid of starting a relationship. She had never dated anyone before and didn't know what to do. What if she messed it up in the first few days and ended up with a broken heart?

Theresa looked at her with understanding and nodded. "That makes sense. But how did Thomas take it?"

"He understood," Beatrice replied, her voice filled with gratitude. "He said he'd support me no matter what I decide. It was amazing. I was grateful that he gave me the time and space to think things over."

Theresa smiled and nodded. "Seems like he's a good guy. I'm glad to hear that. But you know what, we should stop thinking about that now and focus on training. Today's an important day. We need to relax and get in shape before our big competition."

Beatrice nodded. "You're right. We need to do some strength training to get into the right rhythm. How about we head to the gym?"

"That sounds like a plan," Theresa agreed. "A bit of training will help us focus."
