Chapter 2

Athena Mikaelson

"Now before I dismiss you all, I would like to tell you there will be a new student" Mr.Saltzman says.

Whispers flood the dining hall from all areas, giggles can be heard about who the person is and what powers they bring to the table.

"I expect you all to treat him friendly, I don't want any trouble" Mr.Saltzman says staring at me.

Ok so I don't have the best track record when it comes to new students, the last new student I put in the hospital for trying to mark me as his.

"Now the boy is from Europe, we don't know what kind of powers he has yet which is why he's coming here but we do know he's a wizard and he goes to a wizarding school, we don't know what other powers he possesses though" Mr.Saltzman reports over the loud whispers.

"So it is a he" Lizzie claps her hands and you can see the plotting behind her eyes.

Josie rolls her eyes and Hope sits here awkwardly.

As lunch goes on I sit there thinking about what he will be like, how he carries himself and what species he is. I find it strange that I find myself so interested because things like other students never spark my interest they're usually so easy to read, but I guess you can't read a person you've never met.

Sitting there in my thoughts, it took for Hope to shake me out of them to realize my surroundings were dark, and I had been sitting in my thoughts for at least five minutes.

"The whole buildings power shut down" Hope whispers alarmed and trying to see.

"What how" I whispered lighting fire in my hand to see.

"Well that's never happened" Josie chuckles nervously.

"It says online that the outage happened all over America , It says it came from Europe" Mr.Saltzman says in shock.

As we all looked around we silently agreed that it has to have something to do with this new student...

Making it back to the common room with my friends made me nervous as I sat them down.

"Blaise is something wrong, mate you have been more quiet than usual today" Theo laughed trying to break the tension between Enzo and Draco and my quietness.

"Well I have something important to tell you" I said clearing my throat.

"I am leaving" I say looking at them.

Draco forwards his eyebrows but doesn't say anything, Theo looks indifferent, Enzo laughs, Lucille looks confused and onyx looks annoyed.

"Blaise we know you're going home, so are we" Enzo says talking like I'm crazy.

"No Enzo, I mean I am leaving Hogwarts and Europe" I respond rolling my eyes.

"What the fuck, explain" Draco says loudly.

"There's this school in America for people with gifts like mine, I applied and that's where I'm spending the rest of the term and summer" I say waiting for their reactions.

"Why the fuck would you want to leave knowing everything we are going through right now" Theo questions dangerously low referring to the war.

"It's because he's a fucking pussy" Draco says snarky standing up.

"I see what this is about" onyx smirks

"Draco please calm down and hear him out" Lucille pleads.

"No he's a fucking traitor and a Muggle lover, gonna go cuddle up to the fucking Mudbloods Blaise" Draco taunts not seeing the broken look Lucille gave before running upstairs to the girls dormitory.

Anger mixed with energy runs through me as I focus on calming myself instead of responding. The lights begin to flicker as Draco continues yelling nasty insults, while Theo tries calming him down.

"You're saying you're going to leave because you're upset that I broke up with you" onyx smirks proudly thinking she was the reason for all this.

As I hear those words come out of her mouth I feel myself release the anger and power I was holding onto.

"My leaving has nothing to do with you so you can take that smirk and shove it straight the fuck up your ass" i growled watching her face drop into an angry expression.

I could feel the electricity coursing through my body as I stood up.

Draco, Theo, Enzo and Onyx slowly back up in shock, I feel confusion crash over me looking at their faces. I look slightly behind them and I can see my eyes turned white in the mirror after that the lights in the common room go out.

Seeing this as an escape route, I leave the common room traveling through the castle, noticing all the power is out, soon enough I make it up to the astronomy tower and from there I can see the whole castle is dark and so is any ground in sight of the castle.

From there realization washes over me, the realization that I had caused a power outage. The only problem is I don't know how far it went.

I take out my cigarettes, lighting one and leaning against the wall I start thinking to myself about how stuck I am. I had lost my girlfriend, pretty sure I lost my friends right along with her and I'm traveling to a new school in a whole different country to find out how to control something I didn't ask for.

Losing onyx was the least of my problems. It pained me to lose her but only for a few hours, which is quite the record if you ask me being as though I had slept with many girls and dated many girls without any feelings attached and had broken up with them just because but this time I felt just an inch of pain, I guess that counts for something right?

Onyx was beautiful, but she was also a manipulator and she wasn't the type of girl that made you work for it and eventually gave it to you. She was the type of girl that made you work for it and humiliate yourself and still tell you no, she could be evil, even when she didn't need to be and that made her ugly.

Finally, after a few minutes of calming myself down, the power comes back on so I decide to go back to my dorm.

I skipped dinner, not wanting to be around anyone deciding to just pack the rest of my bags instead. As I'm packing, I feel myself getting quite excited for a new path in my future. Guess we'll have to find out what the rest of the year brings me.
