8: Never Let it Go

I can't let it escape,

Let it slip through the cracks of my fingertips,

I can't lose this landscape,

I need all of it to last, this rare, sweet bliss,

This feeling, like a summer's kiss,

I need to grasp the warmth,

While I can still get used to this,

While I still lay on the seashore,

One day, it will all leave,

So I lean back and observe with a soft smile,

One day, I will grieve,

But please let this stay for more than a short while,

I don't want to lose this,

This, this sweet bliss,

I want it, I need it more than oxygen,

More than I needed it then,

I don't want to let go,

For I always said I love you so,

So please don't let me go like all those others do,

There are so many other moments to rue,

I told my dad I would never let go of his hand,

But I grew up, things changed more than I had planned,

But I don't want to let go of moments like this,

The only times when I feel a sweet bliss,

So please, don't let me go,

I've suffered enough days to woe,
