The Future Nightmare: Erza x Simon

"Erza! Erza!" Erza turned her head toward the call.

"Simon!" She cried, once she knew who it was. Erza saw a faint outline of him not far from where she was standing.

Erza suddenly felt her feet running toward the person in the distance but the more she ran, the farther Simon got.

Before she could collapse from all that running, Erza saw a black ball of magic shooting toward Simon.

"Simon!" Erza reached her hand out. "Look out!" The black ball hit Simon before Erza could do anything. She covered her mouth and eyes from the dust caused by the explosion.

When the dust cleared, Erza saw another tall dark shadow in the distance where Simon used to be. It cackled evilly, with each laugh growing louder than the last. It came closer to Erza still grinning.

When Erza could see him clearly, she saw a red tattoo, sitting on the right side of his face. "J-Jellal." She stuttered with surprise in her voice, as tears flowed from her eyes. She felt paralyzed and she couldn't even move when Jellal came closer to her, with a knife in hand...

An 8 year old Erza gasped as she sat up suddenly in her cell. She felt sweat drip down her face as she wiped some away. The same dream had caused her to worry about her friends everyday for the past few weeks.

"Er-chan?" Erza heard shifting behind her. "Er-chan, is something wrong?" Milliana asked rubbing her eyes. Erza sighed and got up and headed over to spot where the other young girl was sleeping.

"No no." The scarlet haired girl reassured the other. "Everything's fine." Milliana frowned not believing what she heard. "Then why were you mumbling in your sleep?" She asked, trying to get an answer from Erza. Erza sighed and said "None of your concern. Now go to sleep."

During the day, Erza couldn't stop thinking about what her nightmare meant. She would think so deeply, she would slack off on her work.

By the end of the day, Erza got a few new scars from the watcher's whip. She sulked in her corner, wincing when she sat down.

"Are you okay Erza?" A strong hand that belonged to Simon rested on the small girl's shoulder. She brushed it off, not wanting her friend to worry. "I'm fine." Erza lied. "Everything is fine." Simon's eyes flashed a worried look toward Erza but she decided to ignore it.

"Tell me Erza." Simon smiled gently at the other orphan. "You can tell me." Erza blushed at the gesture as she rubbed her scratched arm. She sighed and decided to tell the whole dream to him.

"So. That's what had been bothering me." Erza concluded her story. Simon was silent after her speech but he was grinning. He looked up from the ground and gave Erza a knowing glance. "Don't worry Erza." He patted Erza's knee. "The nightmare will eventually go away."

But it never did

~~Time Skip: 10 years~~

A now 18 year old Erza Scarlet stood barefooted in the Tower of Heaven. The blue lacrima glistened around her, as if it was taunting her.

She glared at the man before her. Jellal Fernadez stood laughing idiotically in front of her. Natsu scowled at the sight before them. "Damn it." Natsu growled. "He's too strong."

When the pair looked up again, Jellal had hit his point and was forming a black ball of magic above his head. "Now it's time for you to die!" The blue haired man cackled again as the black magic became lager by the second.

Jellal aimed for Natsu who was glaring daggers into the other man. Erza was sweating bullets, racking her brain for what to do. It's like in my dream when I was younger, but what does it have to do with Simon? Erza thought.

Suddenly, Erza jumped into front of Natsu with her arms up, wanting to protect her namaka. "Erza move!" Natsu screamed at the woman. "Move before you die!" Erza just smiled and said "No. I have to protect my own namaka for what they did for me."

"Don't be an idiot Erza! Just move" Natsu cried out. Jellal smirked evilly. "Now you would both die!" He threw the now gigantic ball of black at the two. Natsu screamed again reaching toward Erza.

The impact of the magic ball caused a huge explosion which forced Natsu to cover his eyes. When the dust cleared, Erza was perfectly fine but in front of her, Simon's skin was sizzling from the large explosion.

Erza's eyes widened to the point where it couldn't be wider. "S-Simon!" Erza ran over to catch the falling man. She knelt besides him as she clutched his large hand. "S-Simon! Stay awake!" Erza watched in horror as Simon coughed, with blood coming from his mouth.

"You know Erza," Simon told the teen girl, holding her hand to his crimson stained lips. "I always loved you since we were kids. I loved how kind you were to the other kids in the Tower and how beautiful you were." Simon's eyes narrowed slightly and his breathing became ridged. "Heh." He grinned. "Your nightmare came true.."

Erza's eyes filled with tears that fell down her pink tinted cheeks as she remembered her nightmare. "I l-love you too!" She choked out. "Don't leave me if you love me! I love you too..." Her voice became faint as she felt Simon's hand go limp as he whispered his last 'I love you'.

Erza's eyes couldn't take it anymore. More tears fell on their own like a curtain of water. Her heart also hurt at the sight of her loved one vanish away from her. She let out a horrid scream out to the open. "Jellal." She growled at the man while launching her self at him.

Erza's future nightmare just came true.
