Chapter 2
“Just how much of this sedative drugs did you put inside that injection to giver her?” someone is saying.
“I read the label that says if I put two, the person will only be out for an hour, so I decided to put six…”
“Which means?” another different voice.
“The answer is clearly written, she passed out for two fucking days.” another voice says, frustratingly.
“Look man, I was just doing what I read on the label.”
“And that's why you've always been a failure in your science course. It's a good thing you didn't finish college with that failure, I'm very sure ninety percent of the patients will be dead.”
“I can use her as an expirement for my course.”
“You're doing no such fucking thing! You get that. Because I'll make sure I murder you to hell.” an angry voice growls.
“If this girl doesn't wake up today, big daddy is so going to use you to serve himself as a meal.”
“Why do y'all don't want to ever get it, I was fucking trying to protect myself from the bitch. She'd have nearly destroyed my dick. And as much as I love my life I love that thing down there, it's part of my living.”
“Gross man.”
“I fucking mean it ” same voice.
“And I'll fucking reap your head apart, if she doesn't wake up before night time.”
I try opening my eyes but it's failing, it's like a heavy thing is placed on my both eyes. Their voices are getting louder by the minute or seconds, worst of all, I don't even know where I am. I'm trying to open my eyes again to see what my surroundings looks like and who these people are.
I squint one eyes open, a bit. My head suddenly starts throbbing from pain, but it's a bit mild, my whole body entirely numb and lifeless. I look to my front, there are six figures standing, wait, I think they're eight now, I can't see them properly because of the golden sun rays that are penetrating into the—I don't even know where I am.
Dizziness comes in and I close my eyes shut, allowing the dizziness take over and trying to calm it down.
“I think I need to give her another one, maybe that's the antidote to waking her up.” one of them says.
“Don't you fucking try that, I'm warning you. You've done a lot of shit for us to fix.”
“Somebody should tell me where the hell we got this dummy into our group? Anybody?”
“I'm sure she'll wake up anytime soon. I don't think it caused any harm to her.”
“You don't think?”
“Come to think of it guys, she looks somehow like Jaxton. Her golden skin matches with his.”
“yep. Let me take a closer look.”
I feel a presence in front of me, their musk scent filling my nostrils, I inhale it deeply, enjoying the fresh scent. It's soothing but— I wince out in pain as I struggle to open my eyes again.
“ Shh…I think she's waking up.” someone says, and the place becomes silent. I wait for anyone to speak but no one is saying a single thing. Only the sounds of our breaths are making silent noise.
I crack my left eyes open and the second one follows, someone's face is too close to mine, the blur vision clearing and I can see his face clearly. He furrows his eyebrows still looking at me.
“Where am I?” is the first question I say.
“man, don't you think you need to give her some breathing space?” someone says in the background, I can't see anyone aside his face. He has golden skin, ocean blue eyes, perfectly carved face, his dark hair are plaited in braids, two silver earrings pierced on both sides of his ears, there is a silver necklace with a razor blade dangling on his neck.
“ You all sure she looks like me,” he says and steps back from me, I can now see the others, they're three of them. They'll look like they're within my age range. They're all looking at me like I'm some kind of alien.
“You're in paradise?” one of them answers, his lips curls into a wicked smile.
“What?” I'm panicking, scanning around the place they kept me. There is a wooden table up front, a big wooden wardrobe beside me, one long couch facing the table, the floor are made of wood boards. No TV, no anything around here but there is a staircase up that I don't know where it leads too. There's nothing here that I am, it looks nearly empty. I look over at the window, there are no sun light, it's completely dark. The only thing I see are tons of big trees.
My phone. I search the floor for my phone and it's then I realize I'm tied up to a tall, strong, big wood.
“Nice try sweetheart, but we destroyed your phone before bringing you here. Wouldn't want to risk our life.”
I feel the unsudden cold crawl up to my legs, up to my body and rests around my face. I think it came from the cold wood boards.
“Where am I?” I repeat again, my voice failing to be firm.
“Didn't you hear him well. You're in paradise, your mini paradise.”
“What? Paradise?” I ask, dumbfounded.
“Bro, she's staring at us like physopaths.” one of them says, and another person burst into laughter.
“It should be the good job of Jude, that made her look at us that way.” another person says with sarcasm and another laughter follows.
I scan the environment again. Paradise? I've heard people talked about paradise but I didn't expect it to be this bad looking. If this is how paradise looks like, then I don't want to be a part of it. I just want to go home. I'm sure this some sort of joke, I'm very sure. Maybe If I just close my eyes and open it back, I'll be in my bedroom and my mom will be in the sitting room. Yeah.
I close my eyes slowly, squeezing it shut and waiting for magic to happen.
“What do you think she's doing?” someone asks.
“She thinks this is some sort of joke or dream.”
“Let's wait and see what happens to her once she opens her eyes.”
Silence suddenly falls.
