The dimly lit bar echoed with deafening music. Amidst the play of light and shadow, bodies danced wildly. Luo Liyan, who had just woken up, rubbed her head in pain.
Wasn't she supposed to be on a flight back to her country? How did she suddenly find herself in a bar?
"Hello, this is the Rebirth Club. I'm Number 666, pleased to serve you."
Luo Liyan heard a clear voice suddenly ring in her ear, and the surrounding noise seemed to fade away.
She suspiciously turned her head and glanced around but saw no one nearby who might have spoken to her.
"Hey, you fool, stop looking. I'm inside your body."
What the heck? Is this place haunted?
Luo Liyan was so startled that she almost fell off the stool. A flood of memories that didn't belong to her surged into her mind, causing a sharp pain that furrowed her delicate brows.
"Hey, Number 666, are you still there?"
"Fool, didn't you just call me a ghost? How come you're not scared anymore?" The voice was dripping with sarcasm.
Luo Liyan blushed slightly and coughed lightly. "What's the point of being scared? You're already inside my body! So, what's going on here?"
"Sigh, although your earlier attitude was rude, I'm magnanimous enough to let it slide." Number 666's tone was full of self-satisfaction. "Your plane encountered a crash, so you're already dead. But don't worry! You're in luck. You've been chosen as an honorary member of the Rebirth Club. Now, you have a chance to return to your original world and body."
Surviving a disaster is considered lucky?!
Luo Liyan felt that what this Number 666 was saying didn't sound very reliable. And besides...
"Wait a minute, if I died in a plane crash, wouldn't my body have been smashed to bits? How could there be any original body left?"
"To be precise, your body was so obliterated that it ended up feeding the sharks in the ocean. So, as long as you complete the tasks assigned by the Rebirth Club and earn enough points, you can buy a ticket back to your original world, along with a body reconstruction service."
What? There's a service like that?
Luo Liyan bit her lower lip and thought for a moment. It seemed she had no choice but to believe this, as there were no other options available.
"Alright then, give me the task."
"Before assigning the task, I need to confirm something with you: Once you accept the task, there are no refunds or exchanges. Otherwise, your soul will be immediately exiled to a black hole in the universe. If you fail the task, you must complete three tasks for the Rebirth Club for free as compensation. Any questions?"
"If I do have questions, what are you going to do about it?" Luo Liyan asked curiously.
"Then I'll send you straight to the underworld before the task starts and find another host who has no questions," Number 666 threatened ominously.
"Oh, come on, Xiao Liuzi, don't be so serious! I was just joking! Come on, give me the task. I promise I'll complete it beautifully," Luo Liyan laughed, trying to smooth things over.
If she had a tail right now, she'd probably wag it all the way to the sky to express her loyalty to the Rebirth Club. She wasn't stupid—being sent back to the underworld didn't sound like a good thing at all. There might even be the eighteen levels of hell waiting for her. As for reincarnation, who knew if she'd have as good a life as she did originally?
