Turning her head, Luo Liyan fixed her gaze on Luo Kexin, who had just been pretending to be pitiful, slowly revealing an expression of shock and terror.
"So... such a coincidence, we meet... again," Luo Liyan stammered, as her body had only just begun to recover, making her speech slow and somewhat disjointed.
But this only made her seem even more terrifying.
If Luo Liyan were just a regular zombie at this moment, they could have simply killed her with one strike.
However, a zombie with human consciousness, coupled with a man with extraordinary powers, made their faces turn pale with fear.
A middle-aged man quickly shielded the already petrified Luo Kexin behind him and shouted angrily at Luo Liyan, "Get lost! What kind of monster are you?"
Before Luo Liyan could even react to his rude attitude, Jiang Haochen's eyes darkened, filling with stormy clouds, and with just a thought, he acted.
The man, who had just been glaring fiercely, suddenly changed his expression, clutching his head in agony as he dropped to his knees.
"Aaah... what did you do to me!" The man screamed in torment.
Luo Liyan knew Jiang Haochen had made a move but didn't stop him. Instead, she patted his arm, signaling him to put her down.
She then slowly took two steps forward, a mocking smile on her face as she looked at the man on the ground, his expression twisted with pain and rage.
"A monster? It seems you don't even recognize your own daughter!"
"You're Luo Liyan?!"
Luo Kexin, who had nearly been scared senseless, suddenly shrieked upon hearing this.
"Yes, my dear sister!" Luo Liyan's lips curled into a sneer as she spread her arms wide, giving Luo Kexin a mocking look. "What's the matter? Don't you want to give your sister a hug?"
"Get away! Get away from me! You're just an illegitimate child, how dare you call yourself my sister!" Luo Kexin shouted furiously.
Her deep-seated hatred for Luo Liyan, built up over twenty years, made her forget her fear of zombies for a moment.
"An illegitimate child? It seems like the one who only got added to the family registry when they were a teenager is you, dear sister," Luo Liyan said more fluently now, her taunts becoming sharper and unrestrained.
Jiang Haochen lowered his gaze, watching his little zombie, who was now fiercely defending herself, with a soft, indulgent smile.
So, her name was Luo Liyan!
It seemed that both her father and his own weren't exactly good people.
Stepping forward, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close. His gaze toward Luo Kexin was one of pure disdain, as if she were the lowest form of life.
He didn't need to say a word, but his actions were enough to push Luo Kexin, who had always prided herself on her superiority, to the brink of madness.
"Are you insane? She's a zombie now! Why don't you just kill her?" Luo Kexin demanded, her tone filled with self-righteousness and even reproach.
Luo Liyan's temper flared instantly, and she charged forward, ready to strike.
But Jiang Haochen scooped her up, as if he didn't want her to be sullied by something unclean, and took two steps back.
"Be good, don't dirty your hands. I'll take care of it."
With that, he summoned lightning, wrapping it around Luo Kexin's neck, lifting her high into the air.
