Mr. Thompson's frustration was palpable as he grabbed Michael's arm firmly and guided him toward the isolation room. The room was stark and unadorned, designed for solitude and reflection, with minimal furnishings and a single, simple kneeling pad positioned in the center.
"Michael," Mr. Thompson said, his voice firm but weary, "you will spend some time in this room to reflect on your actions. I expect you to think carefully about what you've done and the consequences it has had. Perhaps with some time alone, you'll come to understand the need to apologize to Mason and Lucas."
Michael was led to the kneeling pad and instructed to get into position. He complied, his movements slow and deliberate as he knelt on the hard surface. The pad, though somewhat padded, provided little comfort and emphasized the discomfort of his situation.
Mr. Thompson then secured Michael's wrists to the floor with a restraint system, ensuring that he would remain in place. The sense of confinement was intended to reinforce the isolation Michael was to endure, giving him space to ponder his actions without distraction.
"Think about your actions," Mr. Thompson said as he stood up, his expression stern yet sympathetic. "I'll return later to see if you've come to a better understanding of your behavior and whether you're ready to make amends."
With that, Mr. Thompson left the room, closing the door behind him. The room was now quiet, save for the soft echoes of Michael's breathing and the occasional rustle of his movements as he adjusted to his position. The isolation was both physical and mental, designed to give Michael the time and space to reflect on the severity of his actions and the impact they had on the others.
As the minutes ticked by, Michael's thoughts were consumed by the events of the day. His body still bore the marks of the punishment, and the isolation provided ample time for introspection. The harsh reality of his situation was undeniable, and he was left alone with his thoughts about the confrontation with Mason and Lucas, his defiant stance, and the anger of Mr. Harris and Mr. Thompson.
The isolation room was devoid of distractions, leaving Michael to wrestle with his internal conflict. The hard kneeling pad served as a constant reminder of his current state, and the absence of any comfort or reprieve was intended to reinforce the seriousness of his situation.
To be continued
