Ethan's face paled, but he shook his head. "I haven't seen the watch. I swear, I didn't take it."
Logan, one of the younger brothers, looked nervous. "I... I don't know what happened to it either."

Mr. Thompson and Mr. Harris exchanged a look of surprise. "Jackson, why did you take it?"

Jackson was instructed to follow Mr. Thompson to the punishment room. The other boys, including Michael and Andrew, watched in dismay. Michael's eyes were filled with concern for his younger brother. Andrew, still healing, looked on with a mix of sadness and worry.
As Jackson prepared for his punishment, the room was filled with a heavy silence. He was to receive 30 strokes with the strap and 20 with the cane—a measure designed to remind him of the seriousness of his actions.

Michael approached Jackson, his expression softening. Without saying a word, he pulled Jackson into a hug. "It's okay, bub. We forgave you. It's important to learn from this. We all make mistakes, but it's how we handle them that matters."
Jackson, still shaking from the ordeal, clung to Michael, his eyes brimming with tears. "I'm really sorry for causing all this trouble. I didn't think it through."
Andrew, despite his recent ordeal, nodded in agreement. "We forgive you, Jackson. Just remember to think about your actions next time."
The room fell silent as everyone processed the events. The atmosphere was somber but also supportive, as the boys began to understand the importance of honesty and responsibility. The incident had served as a stark reminder of the rules they all had to follow.
