The Foster House was a large, sturdy building nestled in a quiet neighborhood, where twenty boys of various ages called home. The youngest was just fifteen, while the eldest, at twenty-four, took on a leadership role among his peers. The boys were a mix of personalities and backgrounds, each with their own stories and struggles, but they shared one thing in common: they had all come to live under the care of two guardians, Mr. Harris and Mr. Thompson.

Mr. Harris and Mr. Thompson were men in their mid-forties, both stern but fair. They had dedicated their lives to helping these young men find their way, but they also believed in discipline. The rules of the house were clear: respect one another, complete your chores, attend school or work, and always tell the truth. Breaking these rules came with consequences, and the boys knew that the guardians didn't shy away from enforcing them.

The boys lived in a structured environment where everyone had a role to play. The elder boys often helped the younger ones, guiding them through the challenges of adolescence and life in the foster system. But no one was exempt from the rules. Whether they were the eldest at twenty-four or the youngest at fifteen, everyone was expected to adhere to the guidelines set forth by Mr. Harris and Mr. Thompson.

Discipline in the house was taken seriously. While the guardians cared deeply for the boys, they believed that rules were meant to be followed, and that lessons were sometimes best learned the hard way. When a rule was broken, a discussion would follow, and if the offense was serious enough, a punishment would be administered. The boys respected the guardians, not only because they provided them with shelter and care, but also because they were consistent and fair in their expectations.

As the days went by, the boys learned to navigate the challenges of their unique living situation, forming bonds with one another and with their guardians. But every so often, someone would step out of line, and when that happened, the sounds of discipline would echo through the house—a reminder that actions have consequences, and that in the Foster House, rules were not just suggestions, but a way of life
