The morning after their punishment was announced, the boys were unusually quiet at breakfast. The atmosphere in the house was heavy with anticipation and a touch of dread. Although they had accepted their fate, the reality of what was to come still weighed heavily on their minds.

Michael and Andrew sat together at the table, both lost in their own thoughts. Andrew, who had been spared punishment, looked at his brothers with a mixture of sympathy and sadness. Michael, on the other hand, felt conflicted. While he was grateful that he and Andrew were not being punished, he also felt a deep sense of unease about what his brothers were about to endure.

After breakfast, Mr. Thompson and Mr. Harris called the boys into the living room. The guardians stood side by side, their expressions serious but not unkind.

"Today marks the beginning of your two-week punishment," Mr. Thompson began. "We expect each of you to take this seriously and to reflect on the choices that brought you here."

Mr. Harris nodded, "This is not just about the physical punishment. It's about understanding the impact of your actions and taking responsibility for them."

The boys stood in a line, their heads bowed slightly. Daniel, as the eldest, stepped forward first. He knew he had to set an example, even in this situation.

"Daniel," Mr. Thompson said, "you know why you're here. You failed to be the leader we expected you to be."

Daniel nodded, his voice steady despite his nervousness. "Yes, Dad. I understand."

Mr. Thompson led Daniel to the center of the room. "Strip down," he instructed, and Daniel complied, removing his clothes until he stood bare before his brothers.

"Why are you being punished?" Mr. Harris asked as Daniel bent over the back of the sofa, bracing himself for the first stroke.

"For not being the leader I should have been," Daniel replied, his voice laced with regret.

Mr. Thompson raised the strap, bringing it down with a sharp crack across Daniel's bare backside. Daniel flinched but made no sound. The other boys watched in silence, the reality of their situation sinking in deeper with each stroke.

Mr. Thompson delivered the required number of strokes with precision, each one a reminder of the responsibility that came with being the eldest. When it was over, Daniel stood up, his face flushed but composed. He dressed quickly and returned to the line, his head held high despite the sting of the punishment.

One by one, the other boys stepped forward, each stripping down and taking their place over the sofa. As Mr. Thompson and Mr. Harris administered the spankings, they asked each boy the same question: "Why are you being punished?"

The answers varied slightly but all carried the same message of regret and responsibility. Each boy understood the gravity of his actions, and each one felt the weight of his punishment not just physically, but emotionally as well.

Michael and Andrew watched the entire process, their emotions a mix of sympathy and discomfort. Michael found it hard to witness his brothers' punishment, but he knew it was necessary. Andrew, still tender from his own ordeal, felt a deep sadness for his brothers, but he also knew they needed to learn from their mistakes.

By the time the first round of spankings was over, the boys were subdued but not broken. They dressed silently, the sting of the strap and cane still fresh on their skin and minds. Mr. Thompson and Mr. Harris dismissed them with a few final words of encouragement.

"Use this time to think about how you can do better," Mr. Harris said. "We want you to grow from this experience, not be crushed by it."

The boys nodded, their expressions a mixture of pain and determination. They knew they had a long two weeks ahead of them, but they were ready to face it.
