After the event at the highway bridge
Ashford Academy, Lelouch & Nunnally dorm room
The night after the shocking events at the highway bridge, Lelouch returned to Ashford Academy, shedding his Zero persona. The weight of the assassination of Prince Clovis by Britannian soldiers and the sudden appearance of a mysterious masked figure lingered in his mind. Suzaku had been brought to him, confused and unaware of his role, only to be threatened by the figure, who introduced himself as Ronin Vindicator. When Suzaku refused to join him, choosing instead to face his court-martial, Lelouch, exhausted from his night as Zero, sought solace in the company of his sister.
Entering Nunnally's dorm room, Lelouch was taken aback to see her sitting with a green-haired girl—someone he had thought was dead, killed in the chaos of the Shinjuku Ghetto. Nunnally introduced her as C.C., explaining that the girl had been helping her make origami birds. When C.C. mentioned a future together, Nunnally believed she was speaking of marriage, but Lelouch dismissed the thought. Realizing his sister's blindness, Lelouch intentionally dropped a cup, using the moment as an excuse to take C.C. to his room, hoping to change her clothes.
In the privacy of his room, Lelouch began to question her.
"Who are you?" he asked.
C.C. simply replied, "She said my name. I'm C.C."
"That's not what I meant. Why aren't you—"
"Supposed to be dead?" she interrupted.
Lelouch hesitated, then responded, "Hmm..."
C.C. tilted her head. "So, do you like the power I gave you?"
Lelouch remembered the moment back in the Shinjuku Ghetto, when she had granted him this power. "As I thought, it was you."
"Dissatisfied?" she asked, her tone cool.
"On the contrary, I'm grateful," he said. "It has sped up my plans considerably, which is a tremendous help."
"Your plans?" C.C. inquired, clearly intrigued.
"Yes. My plans to destroy Britannia. Without this power, I would have had to wait far longer before making my first move."
"You think you can destroy it just by using that power?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"I intended to do it without it," Lelouch replied, a trace of conviction in his voice.
C.C. studied him for a moment before speaking again. "I knew you'd turn out to be fascinating. Speaking of which, I wonder who that man is."
Lelouch raised an eyebrow in confusion. "Hm?"
"Another masked figure," she continued. "Someone so mysterious, appearing out of nowhere that night, giving that boy to you after killing his enemies without worrying about his own life?"
Lelouch sighed, his mind racing. "I don't know who he is, but I'll find out the next time I see him."
"What will you do now? I'm sure the military is after you," he asked.
C.C. looked unfazed. "Not the entire military. Just a small faction. It shouldn't be difficult to find a hiding spot. I'll manage here."
Without another word, she removed her straitjacket, tossing it aside before climbing onto the bed.
Lelouch stared in disbelief. "What? You expect to stay here?"
C.C. wrapped herself in a blanket, covering her naked body as she lay down. "A gentleman would sleep on the floor."
