A knock on the door caused Leah to get up from her seat on the couch of Sam and Emily's home and open the door to see Mike Newton, someone she didn't think much of.
"She's not home." Leah said as she went to slam the door in his face, he put his hand on it to stop her.
"Where is she? Is she with him?" Mike questioned, which pissed Leah off.
"I don't think that is any of your business." Leah said going to slam the door again, but he stopped it.
"Tell me."
"You don't want to piss me off." Leah said breathing heavily. She was the shifter with the least control, less than Malia and that was saying something.
"Let me see her." Mike said trying to push past her. Leah saw red. She pushed him down the steps away from her as she began to shake.
When I stepped out of the bathroom, my body wrapped in a towel, fresh from a shower I saw Leah shifting as she jumped over a fearful Mike who laid on the ground.
Then I saw it. Instead of attempting to maul him she cowered to him with soft eyes. Mike still unaware of what happened just sat there stunned. I ran outside clutching my towel as Jared and Paul were rushing over to the scene. They were on their way over when they heard the commotion.
"Leah!" Jared yelled and nodded for her to run towards the trees. She listened and did so.
"I have to go get Sam. I have to-" Jared said nodding to the way Leah left. Paul nodded, which signaled Jared to run after her.
"I guess that leaves me to deal with you." Paul said offering Mike a hand up from the ground.
"What the hell happened?" Mike stuttered out, still obviously scared and confused. He was so out of it, he didn't think twice about accepting the hand of the guy who just earlier was confessing his love for his girlfriend right in front of him.
"Come on man, let's go for a walk." Paul said clapping a hand on Mike's back as he led him away from Sam's house.
There I was still standing in the doorway holding up my towel, with a mortified expression painted on my face.
When I got dressed I impatiently paced the porch waiting for anyone to come back. About an hour later, Sam and Jared returned.
I ran down the steps to them as they approached.
"What the hell happened? No one is answering their phones. Paul took Mike and disappeared. Did he kill him?" I panicked and Jared couldn't help but let out a laugh.
"Malia, it's okay. Paul took Mike to explain what he just saw and to make sure he wouldn't tell anyone." Sam explained.
"By what? Threatening death and beating him up?" I questioned.
"Mal, this isn't one of Emily's shows. He explained everything. Answered any questions the kid had and sent him home." Jared said, allowing me to finally let out a breath of relief.
"Leah wants to apologize." Sam sighed out.
"For what?"
"She imprinted on your boyfriend."
"Oh, yeah whatever. Is she okay?" I asked and both men glanced at each other before looking at the confusing girl in front of them.
"She's at her house. You can head over, I'm sure she'd like to talk." Sam said before walking past the girl and into the house, he was exhausted at this point.
"Paul apologized to Mike. He explained imprinting, and you. He wanted to make it easier for Leah to explain it to him, so he'd have some information." Jared explained and I nodded.
"Is he mad at me for walking away?" I asked surprising Jared quite a bit.
"I don't think he could ever be mad at you. As much as he has a short temper, you bring out a different side of him. I know I'm bias, but you should give it a chance." He said and I took him by surprise and hugged him.
"Thank you, Jared. For always being here." I said and the man smiled.
"Anything for you."

Leah's house was a lot different since her dad died. They didn't change anything, it's just the house had a different energy. It wasn't the house of a happy family anymore, it felt sad. I knocked at the door and it was swung open by Seth who beamed when he saw me.
"Thank god. She won't stop crying. Why do girls cry so much? I haven't seen her like this since Sam and Emily." Seth said as he grabbed my hand and pulled me into the house and straight for her room.
I saw Leah's mother attempting to calm her, but was failing.
"Leah, Mal is here to see you." Seth said and her teary eyes quickly met mine.
"I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to do it. I just-it just happened." She cried out even more. From the months of getting to know Leah I knew this had a lot to do with how she felt when Sam left her for Emily. I knew she felt like she was doing that to me.
"Thank you." I spoke and all three Clearwater's looked at me confused.
"I didn't have the heart to breakup with Mike, and now I don't have to. Leah, thank you." I said stepped forward and hugging her too. I was on a roll with physical contact today. Sam would be proud, I thought.
"You don't hate me?" She asked, her sobs slowing down.
"You are like my sister. You could kill someone and I wouldn't hate you." I said and she just let out a laugh while her mother looked slightly concerned.
"Paul took care of Mike, gave him an explanation but you have to tell him about the imprint." I said, and we both know it was more for me than for her.
"Of course he did. I'm sure he was glad to explain that you are his imprint and for Mike to keep his paws off you." Leah chuckled as she wiped the stray tears from her cheeks.
"Well, the sooner you talk to Mike the sooner I can stop feeling guilty."
"Guilty for what?" Seth asked.
"For having sex with Paul, and for wanting to do it again."
"Okay, mom ears." Mrs. Clearwater said as she covered her ears and quickly left the room, leaving the two siblings laughing.
