The months flew by, and seasons changed, but one thing stayed constant.
Bella.
She was a complete wreck. I didn't judge her for this, well at least not to her face. At school she sat at the table they once sat at everyday, Charlie had told me about the night terrors, those I could understand, since I was dealing with them as well.
Without the Cullen's here, I felt unprotected, I feared for the return of the redhead vampire who intimidated the hell out of me.
Sam and Emily, did their best, but they couldn't read the girls mind, they didn't know what she feared.
Flashback:
It was late afternoon on a Saturday in the winter, Paul and Jared were at the table with Sam discussing Embry Call, and how he was showing symptoms of beginning to shift.
That's when the screaming started. Paul was the first one out of his seat and full on running to the other side of the house.
He flung open her door and ran over to her watching as tears fought out of her closed as and she clutched the pillow she was holding for dear life.
"Malia, wake up! It's alright, it's just a dream." Paul said sitting beside her on the bed, shaking the girl awake.
Sam and Jared just watched from the hallway, they knew it was the imprint.
The girl jumped awake clinging to the first warm thing she felt, which just so happened to be the Lahote boy.
"It's alright, your safe here." Paul said soothingly surprising both men behind him.
Paul Lahote was the hot head, he didn't have a soft bone in his body, until he met her crystal blue eyes.

The months flew by, and everything was on repeat, well everything but those annoying boys, Sam calls his pack.
I avoided them the best I could, but now living in Sam's house it was getting harder.
"School today?" Sam asked and I nodded as I adjusted my backpack strap.
Another thing I liked about living with Sam, he was soft, and he always let me take a sick day.
"I'll see you later." I said quickly walking out the door avoiding the other two in the room.
Paul quickly jumped up and followed her outside, while Sam just rolled his eyes.
"Hey, wait up." Paul said and I just turned around and gave him a blank confused look.
"We haven't really had a chance to talk." He started off, and as I held my blank stare, he grew nervous.
"You know since we kissed, and then your friend went missing, and you moving here. We haven't really had a chance to talk." He said, and my mind went back to a month ago when I woke up from a dream clinging to the stranger, I wouldn't admit it to anyone, but it was the first time I felt safe.
