"Hey, Jake what are you doing here?" I asked walking over to the boy in my school parking lot.
"I had a gift for Bella." He said eyeing Mike who just held a friendly smile.
"I'm Mike, the boyfriend." He said holding out his hand.
"Jacob." He said hesitantly shaking his hand.
"I'm gonna head in, I want to get to my locker before class." I said and Mike nodded kissing my cheek before running off towards his friends.
"There's a party next weekend, I'll text you the address." He said with a smug look.
"You don't have my number." I said and he shrugged.
"I'll see you there." He said confidently, as I just rolled my eyes and left him to go into school.
After getting my books out of my locker I went to go find Bella and Edward.
"Happy Birthday, Bells." I said handing her a small box, and giving Edward a thumbs up.
"Awe, Mal I love it." Bella said smiling down at the colorful bracelet in the box, that matched the one Malia had always wore.
"Bella, Happy Birthday!" Alice yelled and Bella shushed her as they hugged.
"I thought I said no presents." Bella said with a sigh as Alice handed her a wrapped box.
"I've already seen you open it, and guess what, you love it. You're gonna wear it tonight. Our place." Alice said and Bella frowned.
"Great see you at 7." Alice said and skipped towards Jasper.
"Jasper, no fair with the mood control thing." Bella said and Alice and I chuckled.
"Sorry Bella Happy-Nevermind." Jasper said with a slight smirk before walking away with Alice.

"Malia, we're doing gifts." Esme called out, and I quickly dissed my homework at the table, and went to join everyone.
"God, I hate Algebra." I said throwing myself on the couch besides Emmett.
"Hey, atleast you passed Geometry." Emmett said nudged me.
"Barley." Edward mumbled and I shot him a glare.
Rose then handed a gift to Bella. "It's a necklace, Alice picked it out." Rose said looking away as Alice dragged Ed over.
"This one's from Emmett." Alice said handing Bella a box after she snapped a few pictures of her and Edward.
"Already installed it in your truck finally a decent sound system for that piece of-" Emmett went to say but Bella cut him off.
"Hey don't hate the truck." Bella said with a chuckle.
"Here open Carlisle and Esmae's." I said handing Bella the wrapped gift.
"Just a little something to brighten your day." Carlisle said with a smile.
"You've been looking a bit pale lately." She said and I chuckled as Bella began to open the gift.
It was tiny, mere in sight. Bella has gotten a paper cut unwrapping the gift.
Everything moved so fast. Jasper had ran towards Bella causing Ed to throw her back to hard into the wall.
Ed pushed Jasper across the room breaking the piano. Rose quickly gripped my arm and dragged me away into the other room.
"Control yourself, you are not in danger." She said, knowing the fighting would immediately trigger a response.
"I got it." I said blinking my eyes back to normal as I went to go try and help.
"Malia, go start my car." Edward said and I just did as told, as I took keys and walked outside.

When Edward and Bella had finally came out of the house, the car ride was silent and I didn't dare to break it.
Edward took her home, walked her inside and then came out.
He let out an unnecessary breath when he finally did get back into the car.
"We are going to have to leave. I keep putting her in danger." He said, the first words I had heard him speak in over an hour.
"You couldn't of controlled tonight."
"She wouldn't of been in a house full of vampires if it wasn't for me, James wouldn't of wanted her if it wasn't for me." He said and I was lost for words, I couldn't deny it.
"I need you to protect her. I know you've been on your own most of your life, I understand the pack mentality doesn't come easy to you, but I need you to try for me."
"Who are you kidding? I like her more then you." I said and he just let out a short laugh.
"I'd kill for her, I did kill for her."
"But would you die for her?" He asked and my eyes widened.
"I know that's what's holding you back from Sam's pack."
"I just don't want to disappoint him if I can't be who he wants me to be." I said honestly.
"That's the thing about family Mal, no matter what they love each other."
"You think he loves me?" I asked and he just looked over with a smile.
"I can read thoughts, I know how proud he is of you, how thankful he is of us that we brought you into his life, and how much he cares about you." He said and I couldn't help my smile, I think I was starting to understand what that felt like.
"Let's head back home, they should be packed up by now. They are gonna ask you to come."
