Seokmin slowly opened his eyes, blinking against the morning sunlight filtering through the blinds. His head felt a little fuzzy, and his body ached.
As his consciousness returned, he realized he was curled up in someone's arms. He looked down and saw that he was spooned into Joshua's side.
A wave of embarrassment washed over him. He gently pushed himself off Joshua, careful not to wake him up. He looked around the room. They were still in his dorm, and it was already morning.
He must have fallen asleep while he was venting. Seokmin felt a pang of guilt for falling asleep on Joshua. He knew his friend must have been uncomfortable, but Joshua had stayed with him all night.
He reached out and gently shook Joshua's shoulder. Joshua stirred, his eyes slowly opening. He looked at Seokmin with a sleepy smile. "Morning," he mumbled, his voice rough with sleep.
Seokmin smiled back. "Sorry for falling asleep on you," he said. Joshua shook his head. "It's okay," he replied. "You looked really tired." They lay in silence for a few moments, simply enjoying each other's company.
Seokmin sighed as he put his head on Joshua's chest again. He didn't know why, but it gave him a lot of comfort being in Joshua's arms.
Joshua smiled before one hand held Seokmin's waist and the other stroked his soft hair.
Seokmin could feel the lingering effects of the previous night's emotional turmoil, but being with Joshua helped to ease the pain.
"Are you feeling better?" Joshua asked softly. Seokmin nodded, his voice barely a whisper. "A little," he admitted.
Joshua reached out and took Seokmin's hand. "I'm here for you, no matter what," he said, his voice filled with sincerity. Seokmin squeezed his hand, feeling a surge of gratitude.
He knew that he was lucky to have a friend like Joshua. Both of them got up from the bed, realizing they still had classes to attend.
Joshua insisted Seokmin stay in the dorm and not go to class. However, Seokmin reassured him that he was fine. They got ready for school together, the atmosphere between them filled with a quiet understanding.
Neither of them mentioned the events of the previous night, but the unspoken bond between them was stronger than ever. Seokmin looked at Joshua's big hands before looking at the older male, who was doing his hair.
"Shua," Seokmin said shyly, while Joshua replied with a hum. "Can I hold your hand?" Seokmin turned away, not wanting to look at him.
As Joshua finished his hair, he let out a small smirk. He walked closer to Seokmin and gently lifted his chin. "Look at me when you're talking."
Joshua said in a husky voice, causing Seokmin to blush. Joshua smiled and took Seokmin's hand in his. "You can always hold my hand. No need to ask." Seokmin nodded shyly before they went out the door, not forgetting to lock it.
As they walked to class, their fingers intertwined. They both reached class when, suddenly, a girl came up to Joshua and gave him a note.
The girl who gave him the note pointed to someone else in the room. The other girl winked at him, but he simply didn't care.
In fact, he even threw the note away. The girl's smile dropped, and he and Seokmin just made their way to their seats.
Seokmin felt a sense of discomfort wash over him. He felt a slight hint of jealousy when that girl winked at Joshua, but he couldn't understand why.
During class, Seokmin found it difficult to concentrate. His mind kept wandering back to the previous night and the comfort he had found in Joshua's arms.
He tried to focus on the teacher's lecture, but his thoughts were elsewhere. He sighed and just started copying the notes on the board, when suddenly the principal barged in.
"I'm sorry to interrupt, but all the teachers have a sudden meeting. You're dismissed for the rest of the day." Seokmin was glad.
He really had no nerves to focus on class. As he left the classroom, he met up with Joshua outside, and they walked back to the dorm together.
As they walked, they talked about random things, trying to distract themselves from their worries. Back in the dorm, they decided to order takeout. While they waited for the food to arrive, they watched a movie.
The familiar routine helped to calm Seokmin's nerves. As they ate, they talked about their plans for the weekend, trying to focus on the present moment. By the time the movie ended, Seokmin felt much better.
He was still processing what had happened the night before, but being with Joshua had helped him to cope. He realized that he wasn't alone and that he had someone to rely on.
As they got ready for bed, Seokmin turned to Joshua. "Thank you," he said softly. Joshua smiled. "Anytime," he replied, squeezing Seokmin's hand.
As they drifted off to sleep, Seokmin felt a sense of peace he hadn't experienced in a long time.
With Joshua by his side, he felt safe and protected. He was thankful that the older male decided to stay with him one more night.
