Jeonghan's sobs finally subsided, but he didn’t pull away from Seungcheol. There was a silence—a silence that wasn’t awkward anymore.
Instead, it was a comfortable stillness between them. Eventually, Jeonghan pulled back just enough to look into Seungcheol’s eyes. He let out a shaky breath, his heart beating a little faster.
“I’m sorry, Seungcheol. I didn’t mean to—” Seungcheol placed a finger on Jeonghan’s lips, stopping him.
“It’s okay, Jeonghan,” the older male said, pulling him a little closer. “You needed this, and that’s okay. I’m not mad at you.”
Jeonghan nodded, his eyes welling up with fresh tears. Seungcheol, though hesitant at first, wiped them away, his hand lingering on Jeonghan’s cheek for a moment longer than necessary.
The younger man immediately leaned into Seungcheol’s touch, his eyes closing for a brief moment.
“Thank you, Seungcheol.” Jeonghan’s voice was soft, but there was something else there—affection, perhaps.
Whatever it was, it brought them closer. Seungcheol pulled him back into a tight embrace, a silent promise passing between them.
“I’m here, Jeonghan. You’re not alone, okay?” Jeonghan nodded against Seungcheol’s shoulder, his arms circling the older man's waist.
They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other’s arms, until their phones buzzed. Seungcheol reluctantly let go of Jeonghan and pulled out his phone.
