"Now, let's see what we have here..."

Opening your eyes, you saw above you was a handsome man, similar to Leon. It was a curious sight, especially since you'd been ambushed by the unknown. The man wore a grey, thick hooded cloak that hid most of the clothes he wore. His hair was a beautiful platinum blonde, slicked back into a dashing hairstyle.

You tried to form words, but you couldn't get them out. Weirdly enough, this man was quite endearing to look at, and his warm smile was so... fascinating.

"Who...?" You began, squinting at him. The man chuckled, helping you sit up.

"It's alright," he assured, "I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Liam." Liam. Sounded a lot like Leon, that's for sure. The only thing that would separate the two is their eyes. Liam had these enchanting emerald green eyes, whilst Leon had those breath-taking icy blue eyes.

Though his tone was friendly, as well as his demeanour, Liam seemed a bit off. You couldn't quite put your finger on it, but perhaps you would figure that out, later.

As he helped you up, you realised that it wasn't just you two. You felt a looming presence from behind you, one that you remember distinctly. When you turned around, your suspicions became correct, and there stood the old man Harlynn.

"What's wrong?" Liam asked, sensing your discomfort.

"I-I," you stuttered, "I don't like him. Why is he here?"

"What's wrong with him? Yes, he did take you in a sack, but he didn't mean to frighten you."

"He what?!"

"We had to take you away from that place, that's all."

"What do you mean take me away? What's going on? What's happening?"

Liam and Harlynn shared glances with each other before Liam sighed. You heart was going at impeccable speeds. You had no idea what was going on. All you knew was that Harlynn was a lying traitor who tried to kill you.

"(y/n)," Liam said slowly, "those people aren't safe."

"What?!"

"They want to kill you."

"No they don't, you liar! Stop telling me lies! They're my friends!"

"(y/n), please listen. Leon, the man who found you. He's my brother, and I know him."

Leon had a brother? How come you didn't know this? Confused, you shook your head, not believing this stranger for one second. Leon wouldn't do that, he was your friend.

"No, you're lying to me!" You protested, taking a step back. "Leon would never do that, he's a good person!"

"He's wanted," Liam continued on, "by the whole kingdom! He's not safe, (y/n), please. I know my brother can appear like that, but he's deceiving you."

"No, I don't know you! How could I trust you? I've never even met you!"

"I know, I know. But I promise you, I'm trying to help you. Harlynn's been trying to get you away from him for me, because if I get caught, my parents will kill me."

"Your parents?" You huffed.

"The king and queen." He explained. "They're my parents. If they found out I've been trying to smuggle a siren, I'd be in so much trouble, and I wouldn't be able to help you."

The king and queen? So that meant...

You were stunned, baffled. Leon was a royal? Why was he a pirate then? It didn't make sense, and you weren't buying into his lies. Leon was a good person, no matter if he were wanted by the world country or not. He was very dear to you, and you knew at heart that Leon would never lay a finger on you, not like that.
