A few days later, things took a surprisingly random but pleasant turn for Leon. After a depressingly long talk with his parents, they forgave and moved on. Moving on too fast, as they wanted Leon to take up his noble duties again. Hesitant at first, the blonde man agreed. It would be nice, he supposed, to be back in the place he spent most of his childhood.
He was sad that it meant he wouldn't be able to spend his life on the seas like he had been for all his life. He'd have to leave his friends behind for this new life. Chris, however, would be staying. Thanks to his incredible skills and impeccable strength, the king and queen knighted the man to be their son's personal knight.
The most heart breaking thing of all, however, was the fact that he wouldn't be ruling with you. In fact, he wouldn't see you ever again. Since you were a siren, you couldn't stay on land, no matter how much you wished you could.
But even though it was a saddening that you had to leave that day, that wasn't the main event of the day. The most important thing was Leon's coronation day: the day where Leon would be crowned - not just a prince - a king.
Everyone was shuffling and rushing and fumbling around with decorations, the seating arrangements, guest arrivals, the feast that was to be had to celebrate after. And not only would Leon be crowned, Chris would be officially knighted in front of the high priestess Daina, the speaker of Goddess Ília.
You were in Leon's dressing room, which was really just his bedroom, adjusting his kingly suit and cape just to make sure it looked perfect. You made sure that no lint or dust or speck of dirt was on his majestic royal blue cape. You checked that his shirt didn't crease the wrong way, that it looked just right. Leon thought it was honestly so silly, but you insisted.
"You seem more excited than I do," he remarked, "and this is my day."
"I'm not just going to let you walk around with imperfections on this perfect day! You know some of these people have a keen eye to call you out on the teensiest things!" You explained, sounding very serious about it when it wasn't really that serious at all.
"If they have a problem, then so be it. You don't need to spend hours slaving away on perfecting my suit like a maid would - which, by the way, I wouldn't like, either."
"Oh, come on. At least let me fix your collar!"
"You've fixed my collar seven times already!"
"Just one last time, then I'll leave it alone, I promise! Please?"
The blonde sighed. "Oh, fine. One last time, that's it."
You quickly adjusted his collar one last time, taking your absolute time and precision to make sure it aligned with everything else. Once it sat gloriously on his neck and shoulders, complimenting the rest of his attire, you gave yourself a moment to gaze upon the newly king of Rohan.
An obnoxious rack on the door interrupted the moment, followed by a familiar voice telling them that it was time for Leon to go. Before you left, you gave the man a quick peck on the cheek. Then, you quickly hurried off down the halls to the ceremony room to sit in your seat.
---
The coronation and knighting went smoothly. No mess ups, no interruptions, no psychotic murderous brothers planning on taking over Rohan. Just Leon, his parents, you, Chris, nobles and royals, and the ever loving public.
It was more than a relief to know that your parents, who'd showed up the day Liam was killed in search of you, let you stay for this special moment that'd change the course of the love of your life's life forever.
The feast was delicious. A very fulfilling meal before you left, served by what could only be the best chefs in Rohan. Then, an exciting dance was held not long after the feast, and it was filled with laughter, joy; it was genuinely a fun time.
