The prince's eyes widened, and he was frozen to the spot. As her shadow loomed over him, he felt the long forgotten feeling of fear in his gut, slowly rising to consume his body. Fucking damn witch, he thought, the feeling of anger boiling and mixing with the fear.

"You," he started, but he couldn't finish. He was so angry and scared he had no words for the witch. So instead, he turned back to his brother and launched at him.

They both fell onto the grass, Liam tackling his brother and pinning him to the floor. He tried to bite at his brother like a rabid fox - the tiny veins in his eyes were bulging out as his pupils dilated from a fit of fury. Leon brought his arm up to block his face from the prince's teeth, and they sank into his arm. He growled, punching the other man in the jaw and threw him off.

Before Leon had anytime to gather himself, Liam jumped at him again. He gripped Leon by the collar of his shirt, glaring into the pirate's soul. The blonde man kneed the other in balls, making the prince yelp. Again, the blonde shoved the prince off of him. He stood up, looking down at his brother holding his crotch.

The holster on the hip pouch attached to his belt felt more present, his fingers twitching as if they were craving the touch of the handle. He unsheathed the gun from the pouch, his eyes never straying from his brother. He pointed it at the pained man's head.

"Say that what you did was wrong," Leon commanded coldly, "admit that you lied and used innocent creatures for your own pleasure."

Liam glanced up at his brother. The man wouldn't back down for shit, the pirate new that. The prince was a stubborn bastard who lost his heart to a petty bet when they were children. He hadn't grown out of it, nor his twisted beliefs.

"Say. It." Leon's grip tightened around the hilt. "Say it. Admit it. Admit it, you sick bitch."

"Don't call me that." Liam shot back manically, desperately fighting to gain back his dominance.

"Call you what, a bitch? A dirty, female mutt?" The blonde pirate taunted, the corners of his mouth flickering into a wicked smirk.

The prince scowled, the flare in his eyes transforming into an uncontrollable blaze. Like some form of feral animal, he snarled, baring his teeth at his brother. The man stood up - his hair had been put out of place during the rumble of the fight, so different sections were parted strangely, some strands gone rogue - despite the agony he felt in between his legs. Without warning, the prince ran towards Leon with his arms out, intending to choke him, when...

BANG!!

Liam stopped dead in his tracks, the angry spark in his eyes disappeared entirely. His eyes widened, his mouth agape - crackled sounds that resembled a broken voice left his lips - no limb moved an inch.

The blonde pirate was also quite shocked by the sudden noise, that was, until the prince's white shirt began to turn red in the centre of his chest. The red trickled down the whiteness, staining the fabric as the other's eyes began to lose their shine. When the prince's limbs finally moved, he fell to his knees, the face flat into the earthy ground beneath him, taking his final breath.

Leon couldn't help but watch in horror as his brother went limp on the floor in front of him. As much as he hated the man, at the end of the day, Liam was still his brother, and whatever love he had left spared for the dead prince he felt stab him inside.

As Leon looked up to see the culprit, he was certainly surprised to see you with the gun raised in your hands. He locked his gaze with yours, his heart beating rapidly.

Your heart beat rapidly, too, after the intensity of the moment. You couldn't believe you actually shot the prince, Leon's twin brother. Oh well, I guess, you thought. At least he's dead now. The gun fell from yours hand, and you immediately rushed over to Leon, your hands reaching out for his.

Tenderly, your fingers interlocked with his as you looked up at him. You scanned his body for any signs of a deathly injury. "Are you okay?" You asked, your eyes filled with love and concern.

He nodded subtly, still recovering from his brother's death. The blonde man looked at the corpse laying lifeless there before the both of them. You glanced at the corpse, too, staring at the mad man bleeding out onto the soil.

You brought your hand up to his face, gently pushing his head to face you. You could tell by the look in his eyes he wasn't expecting to see his brother dead. You could tell he wanted his brother to change for the better instead of having to murder him. But you knew - he knew - that the man was too far gone for that.

"Look at me." You instructed calmly, keeping your eyes on his.

After a few moments, his gaze drifted back to you, the slight pain and regret obvious. You caressed his cheek with your fingers in a soothing manner, your demeanour soft as to not make Leon feel any worse or more of a disappointment than he already did.

"You couldn't do anything," you said, "it was the inevitable. It had to be done."

The pirate shifted his eyes down towards the ground in an unspoken shame. You gave him a brief kiss on the lips as some sort of way to cheer him up. He looked back at you, cracking a small smile. You couldn't help but smile back.

You both pressed your foreheads together, your arms around each other in a warm embrace. In the moment, you felt Leon begin to relax from his tense state, his hands slowly moved up and down your hips, his furrowed brow steadying.

The shouts of the king and queen broke the peace, the sounds of paces growing closer as the man's parents ran towards him and the dead body. The expression that crossed their faces was more than horrified. His father dropped down to his knees, his whole body in a state of despair as he stared at his dead son. His mother turned to Leon, in which your hands slipped away and you stepped back to give the two some space.

With tears in her eyes, the queen hugged the blonde, crying into his shoulder. Leon was stunned, his brows lifting in surprise. It was the first time in forever he'd felt his mother's touch, let alone felt her hug him. But as the hug continued on, he couldn't resist the urge to hug his mother back, burying his face in her hair. The smell of her perfume lingered in her hair; a long forgotten smell, but welcome nonetheless.

The rest of the pirates all hurried over to the scene, each one more worried than the last. The captain checked on you and Leon and the king and queen, making sure all was okay. Grateful for Chris's kindness, the queen thanked him, wiping a tear that threatened to fall from her eye. The woman knelt down beside her husband and helped the despaired man to his feet.

At least it was over now.
