When you woke, you could feel a pair of hands delicately brush along your scales, admiring your curves and fiddling with your tail. The hands grazed along your lower body up towards your chest, tracing your arms, caressing your face.

Your breath slowly caught up to you, and your eyes fluttered open. A man with beautiful ash blonde hair and icy blue eyes looked down at you, his head shielding your sight from the brightness of the sun. He had a silver piercing on ear and three on the other. He wore a silver chain decorated with a cross and many silver rings. He had a singular small scar on his left cheek.

"Took you long enough, princess." The man had a gruff, raspy voice, which certainly caught your attention. His cocky grin as he looked over your face made your heart flutter slightly. He gently lifted you up so you could sit up right . At that very moment, you realized the current situation you were in.

The man was a human. A real life human. And you were on his ship.

Your eyes widened in surprise as you finally noticed his legs, and suddenly, you felt threatened. Your heart was beating out of your chest, your fins flared. You flashed the blade-like teeth at him and hissed at him, frightened.

He chuckled. It was very amusing to him how you reacted to his presence. His cocky grin turned into a malevolent smirk.

"Aw, poor fishy," he mocked, "all scared and lonely on my ship."

You scowled, making clicking noises to express your anger and terror. "Who are you, pirate mortal!" You exclaimed, pushing yourself backwards towards the edge of the ship. But your escape plan backfired, as the man grabbed your flukes and pulled you back to him, causing you to slide right into his grip.

You squirmed frantically, desperate to get away. Unfortunately, his grip was tight. He threw you onto his shoulder with his great strength, holding your tail in place to prevent you from slapping him in the face with your powerful tail. He carried you over to the captain's cabin, ignoring your screams of protest, yelling at him and scolding him, demanding him to put you down. Of course, he didn't listen to you.

He chucked you onto the floor, landing with a hard thud on the ground. You groaned from the impact, recovering fast and putting up your defence again, glaring at him intensely. He exhaled sharply, kneeling down to your level and looking you dead in the eye.

"W-Who are you?" You stuttered out again, unsheathing your blade-like claws, digging them into the floorboards. He frowned.

"Stop that." He demanded coldly. "Name's Leon. You are, pretty little thing?" He gently touched your flukes again, this time, you slapped him in the face with your tail, making him wince in pain.

"(y/n). (y/n) (l/n)." You replied. Leon would never admit it, but he found your name quite endearing, especially with the way you looked - how your scales faded from a cool black to a pure blizzard blue to a snow white colour, gold scales scattered all over your tail, and how your eyes reflected so many different things all at once.

"(y/n)..." He loved the way your name danced along his tongue, the way it was pronounced, the way it sounded. People would pay a lovely penny to have you.

You noticed the spark in his eye, pushing your concerns further about his intentions. He stood up again, his ego shining.

"You wait here," he told you, "I have to make some plans about who I'm gonna sell you to."

You gasped. "Sell me?! You can't sell me!"

"Oh, yes I can. You're gonna make me rich."

"You will not sell me!"

"I never said that you had a say in this, miss mermaid. I don't care what you think, because your opinion is irrelevant."

"Okay, first of all, I am not a mermaid! I will never be one of those happy, chirpy freaks. Second of all, it's not miss, it's prince. But to you, delinquent, it's your highness."
