"We should camp here for breakfast and give the horses a rest," Merlin broke the silence of the journey. The two had ridden all through the night, and dawn had brought them their first break.
"So, Cyra, I've been meaning to ask you," Merlin fumbled with his words,"Well I, you see, the other night, was taking a walk in the woods,"
"And..?" Cyra prompted. How was he going to try and explain? Cyra thought.
"I found this, clearing. And what was strange is I found one of your gowns sprawled out on the grass," Merlin laughed to try and lighten the mood.
"How strange. Are you sure it was my gown?" Cyra said, trying to make him question himself.
"Quite sure. I left it on the bench outside Gwen's old house," Merlin continued. Cyra put on a very confused face.
"I've been wondering how that got out there. But why didn't you just knock on my door?"
"Well your house was pitch dark and I didn't see you in there," Merlin, lamely, replied.
"Merlin, if it was pitch black how could you have seen me?" Cyra laughed as Merlin blushed a faint pink.
"Well, never mind, at least you weren't hurt," Merlin commented while trying to light the fire.
"Why would I have been hurt?" Cyra questioned as she unloaded some of their supplies.
"In the clearing, I saw, this is going to sound crazy," Merlin started, "But there were two dragons."
Oh great, he's willing to tell this. I wonder who else he's told? Cyra thought to herself.
"Two dragons? Two actual, fire breathing, scaley, huge, dragons?" Cyra added a false enthusiasm to her voice, "I wish I could've seen that,"
"They were terrifying! I watched them fight, but they eventually flew off. That's when I found your clothes all over the ground," Merlin said, helping Cyra with the horses.
"That's so strange. And the dragons didn't notice you?" Cyra said with mock amazement in her voice.
"I mean I don't think they did," Merlin shied away from the question.
She's on to me. But what would she know? Merlin thought.
The two ate and tended to the horses in complete silence, both having that mysterious night on their mind. Merlin kept trying to figure out how she would know anything, and if she didn't, why was she picking apart his story? Cyra was trying to figure out her next move; should she tell him? Should she stick to her gut or follow Kilgharrah's instructions and tell Merlin?
"Well we better get moving if we want to get there in time," Merlin broke them out of their stupor. They loaded their supplies with ease.
"Where is "there" exactly?" Cyra asked as Merlin helped her on to her horse.
"The- uh," Merlin hopped on to his stallion, "Why the, um, cave of Kilgharrah!" Merlin said as they trotted off.
"I've never heard of the cave of Killgoro," Cyra commented. Merlin laughed at her.
"Cave of Kilgharrah, and it's not very well known." The two sat in silence for a few minutes.
"Do you think it means something?" Cyra said, really expanding on her character.
"What means something?" Merlin asked, looking back at her.
"That you saw the two dragons before we came to see another one." Cyra pointed out. Merlin put on a thoughtful face.
