"You will regret this! KING ARTHUR WILL REGRET THE DAY HE LET SIN FLOOD THE LAND," Peter Malgraine yelled as the two guards carried him away.
When Arthur sent Gwaine to tell Peter, Gwaine assumed there would be some whiplash, but he never expected Peter to draw a sword and attack him. Of course, attacking a knight is not something to be taken lightly, and this offence would cost him quite a deal, and everyone knew Peter couldn't afford it, meaning he'd have to serve a year in the castle jail, which was exactly where the guards were taking him.Gwaine, however, was heading to tell Arthur about the incident.
"He just attacked you?" Arthur asked skeptically.
"That he did. Thought he'd have more sense then that, honestly," Gwaine chuckled.
"It does seem odd," Arthur trailed off.
"I must ask, why was his meeting delayed five days? That seems a bit harsh,"
"It's Cyra- the girl he's accusing, she needs five days to fully recover from her injuries," Arthur said, sighing. He didn't want Peter to make a big deal out of this, the people wouldn't like to see a great friend of his father's die by his hand.
"Oh so that's what she- I mean, that was where I knew her from," Gwaine covered up, but Arthur could guess what he was going to say and glared at him.
"I'll meet you and the rest of the Knights for training at noon- I have other business to attend to," Arthur said ominously and walked off, intending to visit Merlin and Cyra.
"Ah Arthur, sorry I haven't-" Merlin started as Arthur walked into the room, but Arthur waved it away.
"You're tending to Cyra, I get it," Arthur walked over and looked over Cyra's sleeping form, really more her wing.
"She was supposed to wake up hours ago, but she hasn't yet. I can get started once she-" Merlin started again but Arthur shook his head.
"It's obvious you're needed here," Arthur said, glancing at an exhausted Gaius sleeping in the corner, "I can manage, Merlin. It's nice to see you actually working hard for a change," The two laughed, and Cyra stirred in her sleep. Merlin started to readjust her wing, as he had done every night since she arrived.
"Try and get some rest, Merlin, you can have today to look after her but I expect you back at work tomorrow," Arthur tried to sound a bit strict, and Merlin just nodded. Missing Merlin's witty remarks already, Arthur retreated from the Physician's chambers.
"I finally get a day off and I still have chores to do," Merlin complained, but one look at a peaceful Cyra and he dismissed the thought- Cyra needed him here, so this is where he'd be.
She twisted once more before rubbing her eyes open- something she instantly regretted when she touched her swollen right eye.
"Ah," Cyra winced, retreating her hand.
"Yeah, I wouldn't recommend rubbing your eyes much," Merlin joked from behind Cyra, unintentionally scaring her.
"Merlin, uh, what happened exactly?" Cyra asked, her cheeks lighting up in embarrassment- was Merlin watching her sleep? Did everyone see her bound? Did anyone see her wing? Looking over, she saw that her wing had been set and stretched out next to her.
"Well, you see, when I saw you weren't in the clearing I rushed back to Camelot, and after riding for days straight with no food or water I passed out as soon as I got off my horse. I woke up to find that's the infamous Peter Malgraine had tried to accuse you of witchcraft while you were unconscious, which of course Arthur won't allow. So the trial is going to be days from now," Merlin explained to Cyra's turned back.
