When I wake up again, I am lying in the Mikaelson hut on the sleeping place I shared with my husband before he was turned. Elijah is sitting next to me. When I start to sit up, he rushes to help me.

"Thank god you're awake." he says and pulls me into an embrace.

I stiffen for a moment, worried he might lose control, but when I realize he's fine, I relax and put my arms around him.

When we pull back again, I notice his mournful expression. "What happened?"

"Mother cursed Niklaus. Father went away for the time being. He said that when he comes back, Niklaus had better be gone or else he'll kill him. Niklaus confronted mother about the curse and about her lies. She showed no sign of remorse." At that point, my husband lowers his head and looks away from me.

No matter, I know what happened next. "He killed her, didn't he?!"

"Yes." Elijah confirms. Lifting his gaze to meet mine again, he continues, "Rebekah, Niklaus and I are going to bury her while Finn and Kol take care of the remains of the curse. And after that... I don't know."

"Yes, you do." I softly say, taking his hand. We both know what'll happen next.

The Mikaelsons are going to leave.

"Always and forever." Rebekah vows. Over their mother's grave, her, Elijah and Niklaus connect their hands and swear to be there for each other, always and forever.

There was some hostility and anger among the siblings when they found out that Niklaus killed their mother. However, since they also all knew what Esther had done, they listened to their brother and decided to forgive him.

And now, seeing the three siblings bond at Esther's grave, I can so clearly feel the strong bond binding them together. I know they'll have their differences, obviously. But they will always come back to each other and that's what matters.

Meanwhile, I am busy packing. I pack all of our most important things into bags and load them onto the carriage of the Mikaelson family. We're going to be on the road for a long time, that's for sure. When I'm done, I wait at the carriage until my husband and his family arrive.

Finn and Kol are the first ones to get to the carriage. Upon seeing me, they seem rather surprised.

"What are.you doing here, Elena?" Kol asks.

I look at him without blinking. "Waiting for you and the rest of the family, of course. What else would I be doing?!"

"So you don't know yet." Finn states.

I furrow my eyebrows. "Know what?"

"I think you should talk to Elijah, darling." Kol says. Then, he walks up to me and shortly hugs me, quickly putting some distance between him and me afterwards, visibly struggling with his self-control.
