Bonnie and I get comfortable in the living room. Since her Dad is at work and won't be back anytime soon - the duties of a mayor can be a lot - we have the house to ourselves. Bonnie even made some tea for us, which is probabaly a good thing, considering we have much to talk about.

"So... how much do you know of what happened, Bon?" I begin.

She looks at me through her forest green eyes. "Not much. Yesterday, I had this totally weird feeling like I was doing something, even though I really wasn't doing anything. And then, Grams visited me. She pulled me in some sort of trance where I saw her and some other ancestors of mine. They told me that you took a journey and would need my help to patch the after effects of it. But then, my Dad called out to me and I got pulled out of the trance, so that's all."

"Okay, I see. Well, allow me to tell you what happened. Your ancestors were telling the truth when they said I went on a journey. What they didn't mention is that it was a journey through time."

"Oh." Bonnie looks astonished, "Do tell."

And that's what I do. I tell her everything. What my world was like before I time-travelled. All the horror, all the pain. What America was like in viking times, long before Christoph Kolumbus and those European invaders conquered the land and started the genocide on the native American people. I tell her about Tatia, Haakon, Ayana, the Mikaelsons and everything else. About how I became a midwife and about how I married Elijah after Tatia married Niklaus. By the end of my story, Bonnie sits deep in her seat with wide eyes and a slightly agape mouth.

"... Wow!"

"Yeah. It was pretty wild." I comment.

She nods and takes a few deep breaths as to calm herself down and process what she's just heard.
"So, you're saying, 1000 years ago, you got married to Elijah."

"Yes

"Yes." I confirm. "But, can we get back to that later? Because, when I left these times, Jenna, Alaric and Matt were dead. Now that I'm back, they're still alive, so clearly, things went differently around here after those changes in the past. Would you be so kind as to tell me what happened here?"

"Okay... how about you tell me when you found out about the supernatural, what happened when you did and then we go from there. Because, full disclosure, those originals have been in our lives for quite some time now." Bonnie says, taking a sip of her tea.

I nod. "Yeah, that sounds sensible. Okay, so I first found out-"

The doorbell rings.

Bonnie gives me a small grin. "Hold that thought."
She gets up and goes to the door. Just a few seconds later, she reappears with Caroline in tow.

Caroline puts her hands on her hips when she sees me. "Now, I know you guys aren't having a girls day here without me."

"You're right, Care, we're not." Bonnie assures her while I am busy hugging my bubbly blonde friend as tightly as possible. Caroline hugs me back, a little confused, and then sits down on the armchair opposite the couch, so we can talk.
Bonnie and I quickly fill her in on the basics of what has happened to me and what Bonnie was about to explain. She is shocked, but decides to stay and help.
