Bonnie's PoVGreen landscapes and small towns are passing by before my window as I look outside. Kol and I are on our way to New Orleans. Only one day after our little chat, he stood with his car in front of my house again and compelled my father to let me take a trip with him. At first, I was angry at him for compelling my Dad, but he argued that Dad knows too much about him and his family as if he would just let me go with him voluntarily. As much as I hated to admit it, he was right there.
When I still refused to talk to him at first, he revealed a big to-go-cup of delicious hot chocolate. As an apology for the issue with Mr Protective, as he said. I wasn't sure, but this hot chocolate is simply delicious. Looks like Kol knows how to lighten up a girl's mood.
"So, have you found a witch that could help us yet?" I ask him.
He shoots me a glance. "Darling, knowing witches and having them help you are two entirely different things. I know plenty of witches in New Orleans, but it might be hard to find any that will help us. That's another reason I'm bringing you. You're already on board with my plan and those witches will be more willing to listen if I bring one of their own with me. And such a pretty one as well."
I narrow my eyes at him. "Are you trying to flirt with me again? Is this part of your plan?"
"Oh, absolutely not. The plan is to kill my tedious brother. Flirting with you is something I do for other reasons." he replies.
I raise my eyebrows. "Like what? Boredom? Challenge?"
"Inrerest." he claims. I'd laugh, but the look on his face is purely serious.
So, I don't laugh. I still roll my eyes, but somehow, a smile creeps up on my face. He looks at me. For a second, his manic facade seems to falter slightly. But that second fades and he quickly gets back to driving, turning the radio on now.

About twelve hours later, the cheeky but cute Mikaelson and I enter a small Louisiana restaurant. I don't know what the chef is cooking here, but it smells delicious. Shortly after we arrive, a woman with black hair and tattoos on her pale skin comes out of the kitchen. By her aura, I can tell she is a witch.
"Sophie! Nice to see you again, darling! How are you doing?" Kol greets her.
The woman shoots him a wary glance before walking over to us. "What are you doing here, Kol?"
"Oh, come on! Can't an old friend just visit when he wants?" he asks with a smirk. I can see Sophie looking at him with doubt, eyebrows raised; she clearly doesn't believe that this is just a holiday visit. I think I like her, she is smart. Kol notices her expression too and adds: "By the way, I want you to meet my friend. Sophie, this is Bonnie Bennett. Bonnie, Sophie Devereaux."
Sophie nods at me, eyeing me with a hint of curiosity now. I guess Lucy was right when she said the Bennetts are quite prestigious witches.
"Can we talk?" I ask her. She sizes me up again and considers for a moment. Finally, she nods and gestures for me to follow her.
Half an hour later, I finish with my explanation. She looks around, making sure no one is listening. Then, she says: "I have a niece to take care of. I can't help you. But," she continues before I can protest, "there are a few things I can tell you. I know a thing or two about Kemia. If that diamond of his is really what you say it is, you probably won't even need another witch. You could instead use a person close to you as a counterpart, that should work in this case too. And you're going to need the blood of a Devereaux witch to get into Kol's old laboratory. I sealed it after the originals left, so no one could use it against us."
