Chapter 32

I gently shake Lisa, her body stirring slightly as she shifts in my arms. She lets out a soft, sleepy whine, her face scrunching up in a mix of irritation and reluctance.

Her eyes flutter open, still heavy with sleep, and she blinks slowly as she tries to adjust to the morning light filtering through the curtains.

"Hey, sleepyhead," I murmur softly, my voice a tender caress against the backdrop of the new day. "It's time to wake up."

Lisa groans softly, stretching out and nuzzling closer for a brief moment before finally opening her eyes fully. She looks up at me with a sleepy smile, still half-lost in the remnants of sleep.

Lisa pecks my lips softly, a sweet good morning gesture that makes me smile. We slowly get out of bed and head to the bathroom, the morning light casting a gentle glow over everything. As we enter, we start our routine, getting ready for the day.

We move around the space, each of us in our own little world of morning rituals. I watch as Lisa runs her fingers through her hair, her movements both graceful and relaxed.

I brush my teeth and wash my face, feeling the refreshing chill of the water. We exchange playful glances and smiles, the warmth of the previous night lingering between us.

Once we're both ready, we step out of the bathroom, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead, our bond strengthened by the intimacy and care we've shared.

I head to the kitchen to whip up something for us. The smell of sizzling eggs and fresh coffee fills the air, creating a comforting start to the day. Lisa joins me in the kitchen, her eyes still slightly groggy from sleep.

As I work, Lisa leans against the counter and watches me with a sleepy smile. "You're quite the chef," she says, her voice warm and affectionate. I glance over my shoulder and chuckle, "I do my best."

After a few moments, breakfast is ready. We sit at the table, enjoying the simple but delicious meal. Lisa looks at me with a mix of gratitude and admiration. "Thank you for making breakfast," she says softly. "It means a lot to me."

"What should we do now?" I ask, the weight of everything we've discovered still heavy in my thoughts.

Lisa's expression grows serious, her eyes narrowing slightly as she considers our next move. "We've got to protect this key," she says firmly, her voice filled with resolve. "It's too important to fall into the wrong hands."

I sigh deeply, the reality of the situation settling over me like a dark cloud. "My grandfather will find out that it's with us," I admit, worry evident in my tone. "They already suspect us, and it's only a matter of time before they come after us."

Lisa reaches out, her hand warm and comforting as it covers mine. The gesture, though small, brings a flicker of reassurance amidst the chaos. "We'll figure it out," she says, her voice steady and confident.

"I have a feeling something bad is happening," I say, the unease in my chest growing stronger with each passing moment. The words hang heavy in the air, echoing the tension that's been building since we found the key.

Lisa looks at me, concern flashing in her eyes. "What do you mean?" she asks, her grip on my hand tightening slightly as if bracing for whatever might come next.

"I don't know," I admit, shaking my head slowly. "It's just this...feeling. Like we're being watched or that something terrible is about to happen. I can't shake it." The sense of foreboding is almost suffocating, pressing down on me with an intensity that's hard to ignore.

Lisa's expression softens, and she pulls me closer, wrapping her arms around me in a comforting embrace. "Whatever it is," she whispers, "we'll face it together. We've come this far, and we're not backing down now."
