Yet, amidst the warmth of friendship, confusion lingered in her heart like a shadow refusing to fade. But soon, that warmth began to wane. The reaction on Lawrine's face was something she had never encountered before. Why was he acting like that? What would she do if he continued to behave this way? It wasn't a monumental issue, yet it made her feel special-something she knew deep down she wasn't.
Even when he had someone to walk home with, why did he act like this? She watched him from a distance, his figure moving away, and felt a pang of disappointment. He didn't last long in her thoughts.
As she gazed out at the rain-soaked window, longing filled her heart like an uninvited guest. The storm outside mirrored the tempest within her-a whirlwind of questions and emotions that left her yearning for clarity and connection.
Soon, exhaustion enveloped her, and she drifted into sleep, blissfully unaware of the turmoil brewing on the other side.

She found herself near the grand maple tree in the park where Pran and Lily used to spend time; it was close to Pran's house, a place they often frequented. From time to time, she would visit, but today felt different. She couldn't help but stare intently at the tree, questioning her memory: Had it always been a maple tree?
Suddenly, she felt two hands wrap around her waist. Oddly enough, she didn't react. Instead, she turned around to face a guy whose presence was both startling and intriguing. Why didn't she push him away? She pondered this even as her curiosity compelled her to look closer-who on earth was he?
Slowly, her eyes scanned him from toe to head, but the brightness surrounding him obscured his face.
She was unsure about everything happening around her, but then he took her hand and began to run, dragging her along. She felt warmth radiating from his grip-a warmth she had longed for.
After a while, they found themselves laughing and gasping for breath. Finally, she broke the silence, asking playfully, "Why are we running like crazy?"
"Oh, just because it feels right," he replied with a carefree grin.
She thought of him as a bit of a madman. Just then, he said, "Look at you! You're feeling better already! It's hot out, but we're energized! Your face is glowing!" He leaned closer, gently brushing his fingers against her cheek.
In that moment, she realized that indeed she felt good. She laughed at his absurdity but was warmed by his kindness.
Suddenly, someone approached them. "Hey, Lily! Is that you?"
"Yeahhhhhhhh!" she replied enthusiastically.
But soon she found herself shielding the mysterious guy behind her. "There's no one here," she insisted.
"I can see him very well behind you," the voice retorted.
"Listen," she whispered urgently, "I'm sorry, but please don't tell anyone we're dating. And stay away from him if you know what's good for you."
He stepped forward, gently grasping her hand. With a sweetness in his tone that made her heart flutter, he said, "I love you, so what does it matter what they think?"
Wait-I'm dating him? But I don't even know when I met him! She thought in disbelief.
Yet at that moment, she felt less alone; the warmth of his embrace made her feel protected and cherished.
"So we're heading back?" she asked.
He held her hand firmly as if to say, "No matter what happens, I'm right beside you." It was then that she noticed they were wearing matching bracelets-couple merchandise she had wanted to buy last time. A smile crept across her face; finally, there was someone who felt just as deeply for her.
With newfound courage, she tightened her grip on his hand. A strange sensation coursed through her-one she couldn't quite explain-but she accepted him into her life as someone truly precious.
As they walked down the street together, he paused and said earnestly, "Wait for me. No matter how long it takes, keep loving me until death parts us-and I will do the same."
