THE BELL RANG
Mattew also left the class, Minho and liam get back to take over where they left meanwhile, Lily stood frozen, her heart pounding as Lawrine approached. His casual demeanor only heightened her anxiety.
She had always found him enigmatic, a blend of charm and mystery that both intrigued and terrified her. Since.... , mist surrounded her thoughts.
“Revolution state, huh?” he said, his voice smooth like silk. “I didn’t know that day would come so soon.”
Lily forced a smile, trying to mask her unease. “Yeah, just another day in paradise,” she replied, her tone laced with sarcasm.
Lawrine raised an eyebrow, clearly amused. “Paradise? Looks more like a circus to me.” He gestured toward the classroom, where the sounds of Minho and Liam's bickering echoed through the hall.
“Tell me about it,” Lily sighed, glancing back at the classroom door. “It’s like they thrive on chaos.”
“Maybe they do,” Lawrine said, leaning against the wall with a casual grace. “But you don’t have to let them pull you into their madness.”
His words struck a chord within her. Lily had always been the peacemaker, the one who tried to keep the balance. But today felt different; she was tired of being swept along in everyone else’s drama.
(She was shocked but internally cause she never thought a day would come where he could notice her thought. Even when she kept straight face. It made her giddy)
“What do you suggest?” she asked, her curiosity piqued.
“Stand your ground,” Lawrine replied, his gaze steady and piercing. “You’re stronger than you think. Don’t let them define who you are.”
Lily felt a flicker of empowerment at his words. “You really think so?”
“I know so,” he said with a slight smirk. “Besides, you’ve got a fire in you. I’ve seen it.”
( what a great thought, he can't even tell when we last saw each other, or maybe he's taking some interest in me , naaaaa I'm crazy to get that thought but it won't be bad she thought )Just then, Minho burst through the door, followed closely by Liam, their faces flushed with excitement from their latest antics. “Lily! You won’t believe what we just—” He stopped mid-sentence when he noticed Lawrine standing next to her.
“Oh great, the king of brooding has arrived,” Liam scoffed, crossing his arms defensively.
Lily’s heart sank; she could feel the tension rising. “Guys, can we not do this right now?”
“Why not? It’s always fun to watch you two go at it,” Minho teased, winking at Lawrine.
“Enough!” Lily snapped, surprising even herself. The sudden outburst hung in the air like a thick fog. She took a deep breath, feeling the weight of her own voice. “I’m tired of this constant back-and-forth. Can’t we just… be?”
Minho and Liam exchanged bewildered glances, momentarily silenced by her unexpected assertiveness. Lawrine looked impressed, his expression shifting from casual amusement to genuine interest.
“Wow, look at you,” Lawrine said, a hint of admiration in his voice. “That’s what I’m talking about.”
Lily felt a rush of warmth at his compliment, but it was quickly overshadowed by the realization of what she had just done. Had she really stood up to them?
Before she could dwell on it further, Pran reappeared from around the corner, a smug grin plastered across his face. “What did I miss? Did someone finally grow a backbone?”
Lily shot her a glare, but couldn’t help the smile that crept onto her lips. Maybe today wasn’t such a disaster after all.
“Let’s just say things are about to get interesting,” Lawrine said, crossing his arms with an air of confidence.
As they stood there—four unlikely allies amid chaos—Lily felt something shift within her. Perhaps it was time for a revolution after all; not just in the classroom but within herself.
With newfound determination, she turned to her friends and declared, “Alright, let’s turn this mess into something worthwhile.”
And for the first time in a long while, Lily felt ready to take charge of her story.
