A date?

Arth

As I drove off after dropping her, Dante slid into the front seat beside me with a knowing smirk. I, on the other hand, found myself blushing-a reaction completely out of character for me. What was happening to me? Dante broke the silence with a teasing question, "So, a date, huh?" I quickly brushed it off, "Not really, just a casual meeting, I guess." But Dante wasn't convinced. "Oh really? Just a casual meeting? You protected her like she was the most precious thing in the world, dropped her off personally, and now you're planning to meet her again after work? I'd say the big guy is in love. I wasn't wrong yesterday, was I?"

His words made me blush even more, and honestly, I couldn't remember the last time I had this kind of reaction. Dante leaned in closer with a mischievous grin, "Come on, Arth. You're smitten. You don't just act like this for anyone. You were ready to face a whole group of armed men for her, and now you can't stop thinking about her, can you?"

I let out a sigh, trying to mask my growing smile, but it was no use. Dante was right-I was starting to like her, maybe even more than I wanted to admit. Maybe... just maybe... I was in love. Dante's teasing didn't stop there. "Why didn't you just drop her off at her office this morning? You know, for her safety. After all, you're the protector now."

That comment got me thinking, and before I knew it, I'd stopped the car. "You're right, Dante. It might not be safe. I should drop her off at her office, too." I made a quick U-turn, determined to spend just a little more time with her.

Dante's eyes widened in surprise. "Whoa, I was just kidding, man! Are you seriously turning back? We have a meeting at 10:30. The client will be arriving soon. You're going to make us late!"

But I was already set on my decision. "The meeting can wait. I'll make sure we get there in time. This is important." Dante just shook his head with a chuckle, "You're whipped, my friend. Completely and utterly whipped. I've never seen you like this. Love's definitely gotten the best of you."

I couldn't argue with him this time. Maybe he was right. And honestly, I didn't mind one bit.

I quickly reached her PG and parked on the opposite side of the road, my eyes glued to the entrance. After what felt like an eternity-probably about an hour-I finally saw her step out with her friend. The moment I saw her, my heart skipped a beat. There she was, looking effortlessly beautiful, her hair cascading down in soft waves, and her outfit perfectly complimenting her graceful figure. The way she carried herself, confident yet so unaware of how captivating she was, made me admire her even more. I couldn't help but smile, feeling an unexplainable warmth in my chest.

She looked a bit surprised to see me there, but as she walked towards me, her expression turned curious. I could tell she was about to question my presence, so I jumped in before she could speak. "I thought it might not be safe for you to go alone after what happened this morning. Those guys might have noticed you and could try to harm you. I wanted to make sure you get to your office safely."

She raised an eyebrow, smirking slightly, "Oh, is that so? So, am I not allowed to go anywhere alone now? How long are you planning to be my personal bodyguard?"

I couldn't help but smile at her playful challenge. "I can't say for sure, but for now, please just get in the car and let me drop you off. It's safer this way." My voice carried a hint of command, which I realized immediately. That was my usual tone, and I knew it might come off as a bit authoritative. But I meant well-her safety was my priority, and, admittedly, I just wanted to spend more time with her.

She hesitated for a moment, considering my words. "You really think they would come after me?"

"I do," I said, softening my tone. "You were there, and they might see you as a loose end. I just want to make sure you're safe."
