Aphmau's POV
*Thud*
That was a bit of a fall.. but at least I landed on grass and the resort was near, luckily no one saw us falling out of the sky.
"Babe are you okay?" Aaron asked with all his attention directed towards me. I looked around before responding.
"I'm fine, the fall wasn't too bad. But where are Melissa and Lucinda? Wait.. do you think-"
*Sniff sniff*
"It seems like they're both near the resort, I can smell them in that direction," Aaron said while pointing. On second thought- I realized I could smell them too if I really focused in on trying to find their scent.
"Let's go back then. I'm sure they'll be able to make their way inside too, we have a lot to discuss." I state sternly.
"Agreed. We need to talk with everyone back at the resort ASAP," Aaron replied
I don't think what happened truly got to either of us yet, I was certainly still high on adrenaline.
Melissa's POV
"Luci..? LUCI!," I screamed, trying to shake her awake to no avail. "Shit. Shit. SHIT," I whispered to myself, sweeping up her body, ignoring the burning pain shooting up my legs. My thoughts were running a million miles a minute, nothing was clear to me anymore. Soon enough, I arrived back to the resort.
I noticed Aph and Aaron were already there, speaking to my parents.
"Melissa! What happ-" I cut Aaron off.
"Lucinda, s-s-she," I broke down crying, I placed her on the couch.. dizzy... unconscious.
Aaron's POV
"MELISSA," I shout, running towards her to break her fall. I was able to catch her just before she hit the floor. This is not looking good...
"What exactly happened out there?!" Dad exclaimed. I put Melissa down on the couch next to Lucinda. Right.. I hadn't fully explained it yet before Melissa ran in.
"We should focus on helping them now, I'll explain later," I responded, dad nodding in agreement.
Hyria's POV
*Ringggg, ringggg*
Hm, who could that be? I rarely get calls these days. I put down the potion I was working on and picked up the phone.
"Hyria, we need your help!" A familiar voice shout through the phone.
"Aaron? What's going on?" I respond in an urgent tone.
"Lucinda she-"
"Where are you?" I him off.
"Starlight, but you should kn-"
I hung up the phone immediately knowing something serious was wrong, there was no time to waste. I quickly conjured up a teleportation spell, Lucinda's essence was weak.. too weak.
Aphmau's POV
Aaron's on the phone while I just sitting here, feeling useless. There's gotta be something I can do. Wait.. I almost forgot I know some healing magic... I could try healing Melissa, for Aaron. It's definitely worth a shot. I placed my hands over Melissa's body and a white glow emitted from my hands. I watched as Melissa showed some slight movement, Aaron walking over.
Melissa's POV
I could feel myself waking up slowly, for a second I had forgotten all the chaos until I opened my eyes and saw Aph hovering above me.
"Oh my Irene it worked!" Aph exclaimed as I tried to get up to check on Lucinda, but she was no where to be seen.
"Melissa are you okay? Aph's healing isn't perfect yet so you should take to slow," Aaron stated.
"I'm fine, don't worry about me, but how is Lucinda?" I responded getting more and more concerned as the thoughts of what could've happened ran through my mind.
*Sighs* "It's not looking good.. we called her mom to help and she's trying to heal Lucinda, but she said Lucinda had drained every last bit of her energy getting us out of there..."
"What?! Where is she? I have to go see her!" I retorted, this is really all my fault...
"She's in your shared bedroom, but don't go in. Hyria told us she needed absolute quiet in order for the healing to have a chance at working."
The rest of the day was a blur. Every minute felt like an hour, the thought of Lucinda dying just to save me.. I tried to push it off but it was no use. My time was spent staring at our bedroom door hoping she'd just step out and be completely fine. Eventually, I succumbed to my sleepiness, falling asleep with my head facing the door.
*Creakkkk*
The sound of the door opening startled me awake as I was more alert than ever. I opened my eyes to see Lucinda's mom standing in the door frame with a saddened look. If it was even possible, more panic took over my already panicked self. After what felt like an eternity of waiting, Hyria finally spoke.
A/N: I'm sorry I haven't released a chapter in so long!! Things are getting super busy, but I'm happy to finally release this one!! Very sorry if it's not the best quality as I've been writing tiny bits at a time over the course of a month :,)
I know a lot has been happening in the story so I hope I can be more active in releasing chapters and finish this story soon!!
