She propped herself onto her elbows and got up with her legs that somehow felt foreign on the grass, not yet convinced about her soul still in her body. She looked around, and her eyes widened in awe.

Standing in the center of a garden surrounded with stainless white fences. In front of her was a doorway with three steps with a mossy stone path that curved and bented, with flowers of many variations sectioned in rows led to a door, leading to a large house.

Just where was this place?

"System, where is this?" She asked in astonishment at the house,it was clear to her that the owner was pretty well off.

'Rich character vibes...'

"Welcome to the novel host!" The system spoke with a chirpy meow right besides her, licking it's paws while looking at her with a proud smile.

"I'm in the novel now but just what am i supposed to do here? You just pushed me here without even explaining anything!"

'Please don't tell me I need to go against the protagonists or something'

"It's simple! You need to save the original story's villain from becoming the villain or else the entire novel will collapse."

It was surprising to hear that but it wasn't as well since it was a well over-used plot. She looked around in wonder because while she has seen female leads saving alot of 'villainous' villains so that they wouldn't get killed, this wasn't really a storyline she has seen before.

'Villains are supposed to be bad to drive the story further, otherwise what's the point of them?'

"But why?" She questioned, her feet grazing at the sharp grass bathed in dew.

"In the ending of the novel, the villain Shen Xiao was supposed to die in a scheme planned by the male lead Mao Muchen and the female lead Xiu Huiqing. But then the antagonist somehow diverted from the story and before dying-he somehow managed to give the two protagonists a brutal death." The system explained while jumping onto the fence and looked at her.

"The antagonist probably died from a car accident, that's the most cliche way of killing someone in novels like these." She clicked her tongue but was somewhat relieved to know that at least for now, nothing was too unexpected. "If he was the male lead, then he would've been in a wheelchair because he probably "couldn't" walk and the female lead would care for him then yada yada, you know how it goes" She waved it off with a scoff and instead looked around the scenic location.
