Yilin's POV
I felt Zuo Hang's hand on my back as the tears kept flowing.

"It's okay..it's okay.."He said.

30 minutes ago

After Zuo Hang came back,i had received a message with videos.Videos of the murder of friends from the agency in many cruel ways.All addressed to me.No doubt to scare me.

I thought it was a scam at first but when i tried to call them,the same voice answered every time,telling me the same thing.

"If you want your friends to live,you will hand over the document and yourself by Thursday.Or else,we'll work our way down starting with Zhu zhixin and we'll make sure to end it off with Zuo Hang with a slow and painful one."

All i know was that my world crumbled then and there.I had lost my friends..and i was losing my family..I was losing everything again.

"What's wrong?" Zuo Hang asked as he saw the look on my face.

I didn't say anything but just hugged him for a while.We stayed in silence until i finally explained.That's when the tears flowed.

"Thursday is 3 days from now.."Zhu Zhixin said.

"Yeah..and i don't even know who they are or where to start."I cried.

"Shh..it's okay..it's okay..we'll work this out together alright?"Zuo hang said as he patted my back."You should go to sleep first then we'll figure this out first thing tomorrow morning okay?We've done quite a lot today already and you probably won't function well with little sleep."

He was trying to speak logic to me as though he already knew that i was considering staying up.After much persuasion,i finally laid on the bed while Zuo Hang just patted my back for me to sleep.I finally felt tired for once and i fell asleep.

The next morning i could feel someone sitting next to me.I looked up to see Zuo Hang was still resting against the bed frame and his hand was still on me.

He still gave me butterflies and maybe i should figure that out.I carefully climbed out of bed as i went to wash up.

Meow.

I turned around and saw ginger follow me.I stroked its ears then went to the shower

Today they had another round of performance allocation and i had to figure out who was behind this.I had to also stick by Zeyu..and i had no idea if he trusts me yet.

I sighed as i stared into the mirror.The next few days are going to be tough.

"My guardian..my guardian.."I said thinking back on all the clues when it hit me.

"My guardian.My dad's the only guardian i have.So Lai wenling is the perpetrator!"I said aloud.

I quickly keyed it into my phone.The software helped me to connect it to all the links.I breathed out in amazement.It all makes sense now.
Zuo Hang's POV
I woke up.My eyes feel a bit blurry and my back was sore as i recounted yesterday.

I looked at the bed to see it empty and i went to the shower.Also empty.

Ginger was still here but he sat at the door.

I quickly washed up as i had a feeling of worry snake up my back.

I left the room quietly.It was only 7 in the morning and the trainees were probably still sleeping.

I called Yilin's cell.

"Zuo Hang come to the practice room.Now."Yilin said with a hint of urgency.

I sprinted without hesitation.

As soon as i reached,i slammed the door open to see that the room was filled with paper and Yilin?Well she stood at the mirror as papers were pasted everywhere.

"How are we going to practice now?"I joked.

But she seemed serious so i didn't say anything else.

"The person..he's Lai Wenling..my dad..i figured that out this morning."

"What?"I said in confusion.

"It all makes sense now and i was so stupid that i couldn't piece it together.Lai Wenling is the person i'm after.I was wondering why some agents seemed familiar.I recall seeing them when i was younger.They're from sibling agencies.Agencies linked to mine.So we know where the resources are coming from.The only thing i didn't know is why they're after me and how my dad keeps getting the supplies until it hit me."Yilin paused seeming to feel hurt from this revelation.

"What Yilin?"I asked taking a step closer to her.

"My dad..he was never gone..he was always close by."

"What do you mean."

"Agent black is Lai Wenling.I'm project 217, successful test subject 1...a mad scientist would never leave his creation."She said with tears in her eyes.

I didn't hesitate and immediately held her in a hug as the wods hit me.Her world is crumbling and i could only give her mine.

This is all Lai wenling's fault..and i'll make him pay for it.

I'm honestly sad..the people i rooted for have been eliminated
