Zuo Hang's POV
I watched through the glass panel. Averyn was barely clinging onto life.

I felt a hand around my shoulder as a comfort. I turned and saw Zhang Junhao.

"The first explosion had occurred in the stadium at around 6.40pm as authorities were alerted to the scene. We have heard that a secret agency had activated two agents to deal with the bombs.One of the agents are now in critical conditions as she had taken a major blow from an accidental cut to the main wire.In other news, Zuo Hang is rumoured to be having a girlfriend and fans are not-"I snatched the phone out of Zeyus as I tossed it aside.

" How could people still only care about my love life.. Someone is in critical care and all the fans care about is who I'm dating.. Even if she is the one saved them."I scolded.

The tears streamed down my eyes as Zhang Junhao patted my shoulder.

" You know it sucks that we can never be together and just when there's a chance we could, I'm stuck watching her on the outside. It hurts Simon.. It hurts that I can't help.. I can only look helplessly from the outside... Do you know how agonising it is. It's like watching someone you love slowly have their life seeping away. It's torture.. "

Beep.. Beep.. Beep. The monitor started acting up.

The doctors all rushed in.

The trainees immediately got up.

" Doctors.. What's going on? "Zeyu asked.

" Is she going to be fine? "Mu Zhicheng asked.

" How's she? "Huang shuo asked.

" When is she waking up?"I asked.

The doctor ignored us and rushed into the ICU.As more doctors entered and they formed a huddle that blocked us from seeing Averyn.

" Clear. "

No..this could not be happening.. No..

" Clear! "

" Start CPR. "

I fell to the ground.

I could hear banging on the windows. I looked up and saw Zeyu on the chairs as he banged the window and Huangshuo started to scream with tears.

Evan just stood in a corner in silence.

The doctors finally cleared and opened the door for us.

Was this is it? Was she okay?

I thought as I tried to get up.

We all raced to the door. Just in time to see the other doctors shake their heads as one announced, "Time of death 5.23pm,5 November 2024."

"No!"Zeyu screamed. I collapsed back onto the floor. Huangshuo fell into Zhu Zhixin arms as Chen tianrun rushed in and started shaking Yilins bed.

" Wake up!Don't leave us! "He screamed.

" Don't leave me.. "He whispered as he finally stopped and fell onto the floor beside the bed.

I didn't it was my voice then.. I couldn't recognise the sound that came out of me. A sound of wrangled cry.I don't even remember when I got up and stood beside her bed.

I swept her hair to the side. Her smile still visible but marred by the burns. Her scars from previous battle were too destroyed by the bombs to still be visible.

I searched for her hand and felt it a firm fist shape.. Wrapped around something. I had unclenched it only to find the pendant that we had given her.

"Yilin.." I whispered as I clutched it close to my chest.
