I must've compared favorably to the girls on the island because Jayden came to my house every day after school the next week. We repeated the same routine, and I got better at my craft, learning what tempos and tricks work on him. On Wednesday, he only lasted forty-five seconds. On Thursday, he did his best to conceal a boner during Mrs. Rowe's class. Later in my bed, he explained that it came from thinking about me looking up at him from his crotch.
He never reciprocated, but I was perfectly content living out my fantasies.
As for the Drew problem, his evil glares at me during lunch once he saw Jayden and me sitting together proved his realization that his plan failed. He didn't speak that week, his silence somehow more terrifying.
I still couldn't tell Jayden about the kiss because it would only ruin our perfect week.
Friday arrived- our date night on The Mainland. Jayden came to my house in a pair of light jeans and a black button-up shirt with the sleeves rolled past his forearms (total boner fuel) while I wore a white short-sleeved-collared shirt and black pants. Jayden stated he loved how the pants fit my ass and spent thirty minutes massaging my ass after another round of oral sex.
We took his truck to the ferry with the hope that being away from Kingsley Island might give us more freedom to experience our love. Our plan was quickly shattered when my phone buzzed with Tate's name on the screen. Swiping to answer, I braced myself for the screaming usually accompanying her calls.
"Hey, queen," she shouted over pop music. "I know you're about to get your ass banged, but I just got invited to the annual oyster roast at Kobi Butler's house. You and Jayden are coming to support me in the inevitable moment I embarrass myself in front of Kobi and have to exile myself from The Mainlanders."
I ignored her comment about us and hoped that Jayden didn't hear it. I didn't mean to out him to Tate, but I had to vent to someone. "Let me ask Jayden. We were supposed to hang out tonight."
After I relayed the message, he asked, "Kobi Butler, huh?"
"Yeah, why?"
"That's right!" he snapped his fingers. "Tonight is Kobi's annual oyster roast that he always does around Thanksgiving. Tate is obsessed with going every year because he has been her unrequited crush since elementary school. His family started a successful fishing supply business on the island and moved to The Mainland when we were going into middle school," he paused and then smiled at me. "We've gotta go! It's an essential experience of living in the South."
I muted the phone. "But what about our date?"
"Come on, this can be our date. You need to experience it while you're here."
I sighed and slouched into the seat.
"Come on. I know it's not what we had planned, but I aim to be with you for a long time," he squeezed my cheek, "we will have one million other dates."
My cheek tingled where his fingers were. It was annoying, but his comments were reassuring enough.
"Hello! I need an answer before I spend the next hour on my makeup," Tate shouted through the phone.
I unmuted and held the phone away from my ear. "We'll be there, queen. I'll wingman for you because It's time for you to get some dick. Uh," I hesitated, looking at Jayden's face getting red, "not that I'm getting any."
"Oh my god yay! You're the best! Hopefully, Kobi likes how my boobs look in this bra."
"See you soon," I hung up. "So, there's a party that the Jayden Kingsley didn't get invited to? How could anyone survive without having Prince Charming at their party?"
