"Let's go get rich, guys," JJ mumbled.
The Pogues, plus Sarah–honorary Pogue, climbed out of the twinkie, dressed in dark clothing, including Cory, who often preferred a lighter color scheme, as most of the beach kids in the OBX did.
John B walked around the twinkie, pulling the door open for those in the back.
"Wait, wait," he said, stopping everyone before they climbed out of the vehicle. "I wanna say thank you, guys. Seriously. It means a lot to me that you're here tonight."
Kiara rolled her eyes. "Always."
"Alright, you big sap," Cory rolled her eyes, chuckling and climbing out next to John B. He nudged her shoulder.
"Yeah, let's finish up this big circle jerk," JJ mumbled, grabbing the rope.
The rest agreed, climbing out of the twinkie.
"Let's go get that wheat in the water," Pope mumbled.
"Weed?" JJ asked. "I'm up for weed."
"Wheat, Jay," Cory scolded.
"I said wheat," Pope added.
The girls were the first to the wall, helping each other climb over it and begin down through the yard with their flashlights.
The boys weren't far behind them, however.
The Pogues walked through the yard quietly, their flashlights pointed at the ground. Eventually, the girls stopped in front of the house, waiting for the boys to catch up.
Just as they did, a motion activated light went off, shining brightly in their faces.
"Shi!" Kie said, pulling Sarah and Cory down behind a bush.
The others scrambled down beside them, turning off their flashlights quickly, and attempting to shut themselves up.
"Okay, so, she has motion sensor lights," Pope addressed.
"We could, uh, move really slowly, maybe," JJ offered.
"What?" Sarah asked.
"That's not how that works," Pope scolded.
"Oh, shit. Let's throw a rock at it," John B offered.
Cory made a face at him. "She will definitely hear that."
"That's a really good idea, actually," Kie said. "Let the axe murderer know that we're here."
"Throw a rock at it?" Pope was stuck saying.
"You guys have a better idea?" John B asked.
Cory sighed. "Anything but that works."
"What about the breaker?" Sarah asked.
"On the porch?" Cory said.
"Yeah," Sarah explained. "We used to play hide and seek here as kids. And if we were brave enough, we'd go all the way up to the porch. I've seen it."
"No, no," John B said, suddenly going into boyfriend mode. "You're not going in the house alone."
"Not alone," Sarah grinned, reaching down and grabbing one hand from each Kiara and Cory. "Girls trip!"
"Okay, we'll wait for your signal," Pope said.
"Okay, cool," Kie said, helping Cory and Sarah to their feet.
"Hey," John B interrupted. "Be safe."
"We will," Cory chuckled.
The girls continued forward, hearing hushed whispers from the boys behind them. By the time they couldn't hear the boys anymore, they had made it around the house to the porch.
