John B had disappeared suddenly, completely leaving the others stranded in the marina.
He had them all on their toes, but they waited, until of course, Singh's men were arriving.
The second the group saw the men, Cory's nerves overtook her.
An argument broke out. The Pogues didn't want to leave him behind, but they knew they couldn't sit there and wait for Singh to come get them.
After seeing how nervous it made Cory, JJ finally sighed, admitting defeat. He turned to Sarah, and informed her it was her decision.
They barely made it out of the marina, gunshots trailing after them.
JJ and Cory were crouched in the corner together, making a nervous face.
They had waited out in the water, waited to hear something from John B.
Eventually, they got a call from him. It was hard to make out what he was trying to say, but eventually, they understood that he was telling them to go.
Sarah listened to his orders and started to push the boat out to sea.
The ride back to the OBX was sad. None of the Pogues could get John B out of their heads, except for Pope and Cleo, who seemed to be bonding more each moment.
Kie and Sarah stayed up top for the most part, wanting to remain on duty.
Cory and JJ sat below, their legs swinging over the side of the boat.
Cory placed her head on JJ's shoulder as they looked out.
She sighed.
"Don't you ever wish you could just do it all again?" Cory asked softly.
"What?" JJ asked.
"I mean," Cory sighed. "We had something good going on... the Chateau to ourselves... surfing and beer and hydroponic..."
"What're you saying?" JJ asked.
Cory sighed, lifting her head to look at him. "Don't you ever wish you could take all this back? This gold hunt... the wild goose chase we got ourselves on?"
JJ chuckled. "Nah."
"Why not?" she asked softly.
JJ looked back down at her with a smile. "Never would've thought I had a chance with you... this?" he gestured with a chuckle. "Never would have happened."
Cory smiled softly. "Yeah, you're right, I guess."
"Of course I'm right."
Cory laughed. "You are absolutely ridiculous, Jay."
His eyes followed her closely, brows moving up sweetly.
"What?" Cory asked softly.
"I just..." he sighed. "I thought I wasn't ever gonna see you again."
Cory sighed. "I... I thought so too."
"I'm really sorry, Core," he mumbled.
"Don't be," she dismissed. "Not your fault. Besides... it's just one hell of a story to tell now."
JJ chuckled, wrapping his arm around her. "That's my girl."
JJ stood in front of the Katz house, his arms folded over one another. Cory looked down nervously at her feet.
"I don't like it," he snapped.
"I know you don't," Cory sighed, looking up at him. She could see pure hatred seething on his face.
