Loudspeakers: For our next dare, we have multiple targets! Wait, no, not targets- I meant... uh... subjects?

Loudspeakers: *clears throat* Anyway. You're going to be doing karaoke! Here's the list of participants.

(A piece of paper floats down from the ceiling)

Glory: *catches it*

Glory: Okay, here's who's singing and/or playing an instrument.

The Song:

Baby It's Cold Outside (duet version)

Lead Female Singer:

Indigo

Lead Male Singer:

Fathom

Guitar:

Arid

Piano:

Cricket on the low keys, Luna on the high ones

(A stage appears with all the instruments and microphones necessary. There is sheet music for the musicians and scripts for the singers.)

Loudspeakers: You have 1 hour to practice! See you then!

(An hour later)

Loudspeakers: Are you all ready?

Fathom: Yeah, I think so.

Loudspeakers: Then you can begin!

(Arid starts strumming the guitar with her tail barb. Luna and Cricket play some notes on the piano.)

Indigo: I really can't stay

Fathom: But baby, it's cold outside

Indigo: I've got to go away

Fathom: But baby, it's cold outside

Indigo: This evening has been

Fathom: Been hoping that you'd drop in

Indigo: So very nice

Fathom: I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice

Indigo: My mother will start to worry

Fathom: Beautiful, what's your hurry?

Indigo: My father will be pacing the floor

Fathom: Listen to the fireplace roar

Indigo: So really, I'd better scurry

Fathom: Beautiful, please don't hurry

Indigo: But maybe just a half a drink more

Fathom: Put some records on while I pour

Indigo: The neighbors might think

Fathom: Baby, it's bad out there

Indigo: Say, what's in this drink?

Fathom: No cab's to be had out there

Indigo: I wish I knew how

Fathom: Your eyes are like starlight now

Indigo: To break this spell

Fathom: I'll take your hat, your hair looks swell

Indigo: I ought to say, "No, no, no, sir"

Fathom: Mind if I move in closer?

Indigo: At least I'm gonna say that I tried

Fathom: What's the sense of hurting my pride?

Indigo: I really can't stay

Fathom: Oh, baby, don't hold out

Together: Baby, it's cold outside

Indigo: I simply must go

Fathom: But baby, it's cold outside

Indigo: The answer is no

Fathom: But baby, it's cold outside

Indigo: Your welcome has been

Fathom: How lucky that you dropped in

Indigo: So nice and warm

Fathom: Look out the window at the storm

Indigo: My sister will be suspicious

Fathom: *suddenly blushing* Gosh your lips look delicious

Indigo: *also starts blushing* My brother will be there at the door

Fathom: Waves upon the tropical shore

Indigo: My maiden aunt's mind is vicious

Fathom: *with his face turning red* Gosh your lips are delicious

Indigo: *stammering* But maybe just a cigarette more

Fathom: Never seen such a blizzard before

Indigo: I've gotta get home

Fathom: But baby, you'd freeze out there

Indigo: Say, lend me a coat

Fathom: It's up to your knees out there

Indigo: You've really been grand

Fathom: *now covering his face with both talons in embarrassment* I thrill when you touch my hand

Indigo: But don't you see?

Fathom: How can you do this thing to me?

Indigo: There's bound to be talk tomorrow

Fathom: Think of my lifelong sorrow

Indigo: At least there will be plenty implied

Fathom: If you caught pneumonia and died

Indigo: I really can't stay

Fathom: Get over that cold out

Together: Baby, it's cold

Together: Baby, it's cold outside!

(Arid, Cricket, and Luna stop playing their instruments. The audience applauds and the singers and musicians take a bow. They step off the stage and it disappears.)

Loudspeakers: Good job, although there was a bit of awkwardness in the second verse there. That isn't the last we'll be seeing of that stage, though; the karaoke will be returning soon, with different singers than this time! Hope everybody enjoyed this song, because there's more on the way!

I'm writing this in August, but rule #1 in Elf is "Treat every day like Christmas," so

Merry Christmas

Happy Hanukkah

Have a good Kwanzaa

Enjoy your Diwali

And just have a good time all year round!
