The Lotus Casino.. and Hermes...

We walk into the Lotus Casino lobby to see a bunch of games and eye catching things like a trap it felt off in an unexplainable way.

" I know we're supposed to be saving the world, but would it be unprofessional to stay here for a few hours?" Percy asked walking forward

I stopped him remembering reading the odyssey in Athena cabin.

" am I the only one here who wrote the Odyssey?"  I asked

Everybody looked at me like I had three heads

" right. So did anybody remember anything about the lotus fruit or is that just me?"

Percy perked up " yeah I remember. My mom read the graphic novel version."

I gave him the ' did you really just say that' face

" OK so do you know what happens when you eat the lotus fruit?"

He looked at me like I told him he had cancer again

" Great and I thought I was supposed to be the dumb blonde. Anyways, when they ate a lot of fruit, they forgot anything and everything that happened. They forgot who they were what they were doing, and if that happened to us-"

" it would be bad on a number of levels" Grover said

" Exactly."

" all right then wise girl what do we do?" Percy asked.

Me and Annabeth pointed between each other trying to figure out who he was talking about.

" you Adonis" he said, rolling his eyes

" don't sass me okay? I say we get in get Hermes to hook us up with a ride and then we get out."

" would you prefer I call you Dove?" Percy asked me

" shut up."

" are you gonna hit me again?"

" you know I just might" I say raising my hand

" gods Luke was right with you to stop fighting like an old married couple!" Annabeth shouted

We both stop fighting. Looked at her and backed away from each other.

" good to see it still works" Annabeth muttered

" right whatever you say. So rule number one. Don't eat anything. Rule number two. We meet back here in 20 minutes" I say

" OK so are we splitting up or.." Percy asked

" I called dibs on Annabeth!" I shouted

" what why do you get Annabeth?" Percy asked

"Because she's my best friend duh"

"Okay but I've never met Hermes all of you have so shouldn't you take me instead"

"Why does it matter and I have only met Hermes in a dream"
