Uncle Kyle

I sat in the infirmary all night, awake pacing back-and-forth, waiting for Percy to wake up.

I heard a groan and I raced to his bed.

"Bubble Brain?"

"Dove?" He whispered

"Percy!" I shouted tackling him with a hug

He inhaled sharply and I realized I hurt him

"Sorry" I apologize "I'm just so glad you're okay"

"Thanks" he said wrapping his arms around his stomach

"Percy what do you remember about last night?" I asked

"I remember taking the hit literally then you caught me and my vision went black"

"That's it?" I asked

"Yea why am I missing something?"

I didn't want to ruin my friendship with Percy so I said " Nope you got it, just curious about hallucinations, their common lack of blood flow and stuff"

He nodded

" I need to go pack. I'll see you later." I said awkwardly leaving the infirmary stressed, flustered, but most of all questioning my own judgment

Annabeth and I were the first ones to Thalia's tree.

" did you tell him?" Annabeth questioned me

" of course not he doesn't remember"

" Addy you can't keep that from him. I mean, he kissed you."

" you don't think I know that I ran scenarios through my head all night, waiting for him to wake up. In almost every scenario he remembered and in the real one he didn't which means not only did my theoretical test not work, but my logistical brain is overloaded and overheating right now. And I am freaking out Annabeth!"

" calm down no need to pop out some Italian words again"

" no you don't understand-"

" hey guys, what's up?" Percy's voice questioned

" Nothing talking about uh.. string theory" I said awkwardly

" so nerd stuff?" he asked.

" yeah nerd stuff" Annabeth muttered

"We're just waiting on Grover then?" Percy asked

"Yep" I said

"Guys guys!" Grover called

"You got it?" Percy asked him

"Yea" Grover replied excitedly, moving his jacket to reveal a beautiful flower

" that's your searcher license" I questioned him smiling

He nodded excitedly

" let's make a pact" Percy told us " To meet back here next year, no matter what happens. All of us. Right here Deal?

" Deal" I said

He smiled at me

We all did a group hug

I made my way down the hillside Percy following me.

"What are you following me for?" I said to him

"Just making sure you're okay is there a problem with that?"

"No"

He followed me to a purple car where I saw my Uncle.

"Hi!" I squealed tackling him with a hug

Once my uncle set me on the ground I realized Percy was standing there angrily at my uncle.

It took me a minute to realize it but he thought it was my dad. I remembered the promise he made me back in St. Louis.

"Percy this is my uncle Kyle"

Percy's face dropped and then switched to a bright smile

"Hi I'm Percy Jackson you must be Kyle son of Hephaestus right"

"Yea" My uncle replied "and you?"

"Uh Poseidon"

My uncle's face went blank

"Okay ready to go?" I asked my uncle

"Yea if you're ready kid"

"Oh wait!" I said "I almost forgot about this"

I pulled a small box out and handed to Percy.

"Don't open it yet" I told him

He smiled at it

"Thanks Dove"

My heart skipped a beat

"No problem Bubble Brain"

I opened the car door and got in

"Dove?" My uncle questioned

"It's a long story" I told him
