Chapter 32 Goldune Desert Part 1

Ash, Alice, and Alex left Brushus Town behind, their footsteps carrying them back toward Route 4. The warm breeze of the desert welcomed them as they approached the sandy entrance. Standing at the threshold, Keira awaited their arrival, her eyes gleaming with excitement.

"You finally made it! Can we have our battle now?" Keira asked, her voice filled with anticipation.

Ash raised an eyebrow, a smile tugging at his lips. "Sure, but what's got you so eager for a battle all of a sudden?"

Keira grinned, her hands moving to reveal a Poké Ball. "It's simple—I had an egg that just hatched, and I've already trained it a bit." With a flick of her wrist, she released her Pokémon, revealing a Pupool.

Ash's eyes widened in admiration. "So your new Pokémon is a Pupool! That's awesome."

Keira nodded proudly. "How about you? Has your egg hatched yet?"

Ash shook his head, glancing down at the egg cradled in his backpack. "Not yet. They must be pretty special if it's taking this long."

Keira tilted her head in curiosity. "I wonder what it'll be... Anyway, let's battle! I want to show you how hard I've been training."

The battle commenced with Ash sending out Pikachu to face Pupool. Pupool's Lick and Scary Face combination momentarily stunned Pikachu, making it shiver in surprise. But Pikachu quickly recovered, countering with a well-placed Electro Web that left Pupool fainted.

Undeterred, Keira called out her Pixwee. Ash responded by sending out his Spidox. The two Pokémon clashed fiercely, but Spidox's Poison Fang inflicted significant damage, causing Pixwee to wince in pain. The battle was intense, but in the end, Spidox triumphed, and as the dust settled, a glow surrounded it.

Ash and the others watched in awe as Spidox began to evolve. When the light faded, it had transformed into Widox.

"Now it's a Widox..." Alex said, his voice tinged with admiration.

Widox: The Black Widow Pokémon. Poison and Bug Type. Evolved from Spidox at level 20. Despite the stigma and fear surrounding them, Widox venom was a key research material in creating the first Antidotes and Full Heals.

Alice looked thoughtful. "So, this is where we get our Antidotes and Full Heals? Maybe we could make some for our future travels."

Ash nodded in agreement. "You're right. It could be really helpful."

Keira wasn't done yet. With determination in her eyes, she sent out her next Pokémon, Nimblow.

"Nimblow is the evolution of Flowby," Ash remarked, studying the Pokémon. "But it's still a Flying type." With a confident nod, he sent out Buzzeed to battle.

Buzzeed started off by using Growth, enhancing its abilities. But Nimblow responded swiftly, unleashing a powerful Twister that sent Buzzeed spinning, taking significant damage. Before Buzzeed could recover, Nimblow followed up with an Air Cannon, blasting the seed Pokémon high into the air.

But Buzzeed wasn't out of the fight. While in midair, it used Parabolic Charge, striking Nimblow with a surge of electrical energy that not only dealt massive damage but also restored Buzzeed's health. The battle took an unexpected turn as Buzzeed began to glow, evolving into a new form. Now an Ecobuzz, it unleashed a devastating Discharge, finishing off Nimblow with a powerful electric strike.

Keira watched in amazement. "Another new evolution, huh?"

Ash smiled, scanning the newly evolved Pokémon with his Pokédex. "Well, a lot of my Pokémon are going to evolve during this journey."
