Chapter 73 Victory Road

Ash, Alice, Rodney, and Keira waste no time as they head west toward Victory Road, the final challenge before the Rikoto League. As they walk, Ash turns to his companions. "So, what are you two planning?"

"We're going to do some training first," Rodney replies. "This is our big moment, after all."

Keira nods in agreement. "Indeed, so I guess this is where we part ways?"

Alice smiles, understanding the importance of their preparation. "I guess so. Let's meet again in the Rikoto League Village."

With that, they bid farewell, leaving Ash and Alice alone to continue their journey together.

As they move forward, Ash and Alice reach the sea, realizing they need to surf to continue their journey. While surfing across the waves, they spot a glowing slug Pokémon gliding through the water. Alice points excitedly. "That's a Sealug! I don't think you have that Pokémon yet, right?"

Ash shakes his head, his eyes lighting up with determination. "No, I don't. Let's capture it!"

He calls out Squidart to battle, and as the battle unfolds, Squidart begins to glow and suddenly evolves into Lisquid. Now black instead of its previous white, Lisquid looks even more formidable. "Lisquid, use Sucker Punch!" Ash commands.

Lisquid swiftly strikes Sealug with a powerful Sucker Punch, weakening it enough for Ash to capture the glowing Pokémon.

Lisquid: The Squid Pokemon: Dark and Water Type. Evolve from Squidart at LV:47. Considered to be one of the ocean's most dangerous predators, Lisquid are both intelligent and ruthless, using their ink and limbs to attack prey.

Sealug: The Glow Spot Pokemon: Water Type. Sticky slime encovers Sealug's whole body. It sheds the coat of slime on it every once a while to remove the dirt and wastes on itself.

While fishing, Ash and Alice suddenly reel in an electric eel Pokémon. Alice gasps in alarm. "Oh no! That's an Eelect!"

Before Ash can ask why Alice is panicking, the Eelect releases a powerful Discharge, sending a shock through Ash. "Ash!" Alice yells, rushing to his side.

Pikachu quickly tries to counter with Thunderbolt, but the attack has no effect—the Eelect's Volt Absorb ability renders it useless. Just as the situation looks dire, Sealug steps in and uses Sulfuric Spray, stopping the Eelect in its tracks.

"Thanks, Sealug..." Ash mutters, still catching his breath. But the Eelect, undeterred, starts targeting Sealug. The battle intensifies, and just as it seems the Eelect might gain the upper hand, Sealug evolves into Nembroslug, gaining newfound strength. With a swift move, Nembroslug unleashes a powerful Whirlpool, trapping the Eelect.

Ash seizes the opportunity and throws a Poké Ball, successfully capturing the Eelect.

Eelect: The Eel Pokemon: Water and Electric Type. Eelect are patient hunters, waiting in the crevices of their lair and scouting for the best target. They use their tails to zap and subdue their prey.

Nembroslug: The Glow Spot Pokemon: Water and Poison Type. Evolve from Sealug at LV:50. The green spots on Nembroslug's body marks where it stores gooey slime. They are able to entangle foes simply by bumping into them.

"Thank you for your help, Nembroslug," Ash says with a grateful smile. "Your Poison type is going to be a great addition to the team."

After landing on solid ground, Ash and Alice prepare to continue their journey when they suddenly hear a familiar, taunting voice. "Hey, weakling, wait a second!"
