Olivia's POV
"Come on Liv, one more drink!" Emily urged after I had consumed my fifth shot. Nick, Chris, Emily and I were pretty drunk, to the point of absolute insanity in fact. At the moment everyone decided it would be an amazing idea to go to Devil's, a bar outside the city, except me of course. Tomorrow would be one of the most important days of my life, yet here I was drinking until I saw stars.
"It'll be so much fun, and you've been depressed all week thanks to Mr. Billionaire. Getting out will do you some good." Emily had told me earlier when we were all at Nick's apartment, including Chris. I explained the entire fight between Dominic and I to them. Let's just say I had to hold Emily back so she wouldn't have to spend a night in jail.
I'd been staying with Nick since the fight, along with Emily since the police were still investigating who broke into our apartment. Everyone, including the detectives and police, agreed that it could have been a sabotage because of my newly profound status.
Once I told Nick, Emily, and Chris about my new job they were absolutely speechless.
"My best friend is rich!"
"Do you know how much nutella we'll be able to get?"
"Olivia this is insane! I slept with a girl richer than Bill Gates' ass!"
Okay they weren't exactly speechless, but they were shocked nevertheless. I informed all of them how much I wanted them at the press conference with me, and they didn't hesitate to say yes. I wasn't too sure I could do it without them, and I was just grateful I'd have someone there. I was already stressed enough with Dominic and this huge announcement, I needed every friend I could get. Maybe getting out of my comfort zone and getting drunk was exactly what I needed.
I downed another shot of tequila, making this my sixth. I felt good and for once I wasn't worried about what Dominic would say to me or if he would be upset with me. I was making myself happy and that's all I cared about at one in the morning.
I looked around and saw Chris chatting up some guy at the end of bar, and Emily was doing the same. I hadn't noticed everyone left until I watched Nick roughly down another beer, watching Emily intensely. It was almost as if he was jealous. I've always had a sneaking suspicion that Nick liked Emily, and this basically sealed the deal.
"Do you have feelings for Emily?" I blurted out and actually surprised myself by forming a coherent sentence. For a few moments he didn't answer me. His body language told me he was focused on something far more interesting. Finally, Nick tore his eyes off Emily and the mystery guy and took me in, his eyes darkening almost immediately.
"Does it matter? Looks like she's found someone else.." he pointed at the drunken pair making out and things were getting pretty heated. He asked the bartender for another drink and I found myself feeling incredibly bad for Nick. I frowned at the way he stared at Emily. Nick, although being a bit of a player, was a great guy and didn't deserve watching the girl he liked get involved with another man.
"Nick, bro, bestie." I slurred a tad and rubbed his shoulder. "You will find a great girl. It may not be Emily, but don't you worry. I don't know one girl that wouldn't want to be yours. Anyone would be lucky as fùck to have you, and don't forget it." I finished and he was now staring at me intently, like he was trying to find something.
